There were new and notable appointments this week at Auxilion, Drinkaware, Envisage and Rásaíocht Con Éireann.
Peter Glynne, Director of Consulting,
Auxilion
Irish IT service provider Auxilion has announced the appointment of Peter Glynne as Director of Consulting.
In his new role, Glynne will oversee Auxilion’s consulting practice and will lead the team in delivering high-quality Digital Transformation, Governance & Assurance, Technology Services and Modern Workplace services to its growing client base. He will also be responsible for ensuring that Auxilion’s clients maximise the value of change programmes and business process optimisation, underpinned by IT services and solutions.
Glynne brings decades of consulting experience in Government, healthcare and financial services to his new role. His previous experience includes four years as a Senior Management Consultant with PwC, two and a half years with Microsoft Consulting and eight years with Deloitte as a Senior Management Consultant.
Glynne is the President-Elect of the Irish Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and authored a book for the organisation, entitled “Benefits Led Change: Maximising Value”. He also holds a master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Limerick.

Dearbhla O’Brien, Chief Executive Office,
Drinkaware
Drinkaware, the national, independent charity working to prevent and reduce alcohol misuse, has today announced the appointment of Dearbhla O’Brien as CEO. Following an extensive and competitive recruitment process, O’Brien emerged as the outstanding candidate. She replaces outgoing CEO Sheena Horgan and will officially take up the role from September 4th, 2023.
Dearbhla is an experienced CEO with a strong track record over 20 years leading organisations such as USIT Ireland where she served as CEO and Commercial Director. She is a founding Director of travel start-up Workandtravel.ie, in addition to previous roles such as CEO of semi-state body Rasaíocht Con Éireann and Head of Marketing for Ryanair. Dearbhla has also served as Non-Executive Director of the not for profit ‘Bray Women’s Refuge’. She holds a degree in International Business from DCU and is also a chartered director of the Institute of Directors.

Ivan Darmody, Business Sales Manager,
Envisage
Envisage, a Sage partner in Ireland and member of the Noledge Group, today announces the appointment of Ivan Darmody as New Business Sales Manager.
Darmody brings 25 years of sales experience within the publishing and IT sectors. In his new position, he will assume a pivotal role in spearheading revenue growth for the company. His primary responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities, fostering customer relationships, and assisting clients in selecting the ideal financial management solution from the Envisage and Sage product portfolios.
Prior to joining Envisage, Darmody spent 16 years in Sage Ireland, where he gained expertise across all facets of the customer engagement cycle, including customer experience, account management, business development and channel sales. Ivan excelled as a Business Development Manager, successfully selling to medium and large enterprises worldwide for seven years. He also managed a significant segment of Sage’s Business Partner Community for more than five years.

Tim Lucey, Chief Executive Officer,
Rásaíocht Con Éireann
The Board of Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) / Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) has announced the appointment of Tim Lucey as the organisation’s new CEO.
Lucey has been Chief Executive of Cork County Council since 2014. During his 40-year career in Local Government, he also has served as Manager of Cork City Council (2010-2014),
Lucey is an experienced Chief Executive, having served the last 9 years as Chief Executive of Cork County Council after progressing from a 4-year period in the same role at Cork City Council. He previously held the position of assistant County Manager (for North Cork) and Head Of Corporate Affairs for Cork County Council.
The native of Bandon in County Cork, who will assume his new CEO role in November 2023, has led transformational change in the Local Government sector with a focus on investment in corporate development, commercial thinking and supporting the importance of rural, community, and cultural aspects of Ireland’s fabric, while at the same time securing significant investment in infrastructure, urban and business growth.
He is a member of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Board of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), the Local Government Management Agency and Promoting Cork Ltd, and has extensive qualifications in accountancy, company direction and business.
“I am honoured to accept the position of CEO and I am very much looking forward to working with the Board of Directors and staff of RCÉ and the vibrant greyhound community across Ireland,” commented Mr. Lucey.
