There were new and notable appointments this week at Quintas, Deloitte Ireland and Data Edge


Maria Nugent, Tax Manager
Quintas

Quintas has announced the appointment of Maria Nugent as its new Tax Manager. Nugent joins the firm from Deloitte, where she served as an Assistant Manager specialising in employment tax and global mobile assignees.

With over five years of experience, she is Chartered Tax Advisor, a member of the Irish Tax Institute and a graduate of University College Cork, having received an honours degree in Law and a master’s degree in Business Law.  In her new role, Nugent will provide tax consultancy services, from a personal & corporate perspective with a particular focus on succession planning, company reorganisations and mergers & acquisitions.

John Kelly, Audit & Assurance Partner
Deloitte Ireland

Deloitte Ireland has announced the appointment of John Kelly as a partner in its audit and assurance practice based in the Cork office where his focus will be on privately owned businesses in the Munster region.

Kelly brings a wealth of experience to this role supporting large privately owned businesses in a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail and technology. He has over 15 years’ experience providing audit and advisory services to both international and local companies, including five years spent as part of Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance team where he was focused primarily on privately held companies. He also spent time working in an industry role in controllership, project management and technical accounting.

Commenting on his appointment, Kelly said: “As the reporting requirements of businesses continue to evolve, I’m excited to be re-joining the world’s largest professional services firm to support local and international clients with their complex accounting matters. The scale and breadth of Deloitte’s clients in the Munster region is hugely impressive and I look forward to engaging with locally based businesses to support them with their accounting needs.”

Kelly’s appointment to partnership also comes after a 10-year career as a professional rugby player, representing Munster and Ireland. He has also held a voluntary role as the chair of Munster Rugby’s professional game board, a group with oversight of the strategy and development of professional rugby in the province. He is a member of CPA Ireland and holds and B Eng in Civil Engineering and a H Dip in Applied Science.


Raj Mullapudi, Telecoms Engineer
Data Edge

Data Edge, a network and application performance management company, has announced the appointment of Raj Mullapudi as Telecoms Engineer.

In his new role as part of the technical support and sales team, Mullapudi will be responsible for managing Service Level Agreements (SLA) and monitoring web applications on a local, national and international level.

He is a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate and will use his expertise to provide Microsoft365 installation, configuration and troubleshooting services and will test new versions of business software to ensure proper operation and integration for organisations.

Before joining Data Edge, Mallapudi worked as an IT Support Analyst at Sagar Software Solutions Ltd. in India for two years. In this role, he provided 1st and 2nd level IT Administrative and Security Desktop support both on-site and remotely. He also installed, configured, upgraded and remediated hardware and software issues pertaining to current and legacy versions of Microsoft Windows.

He  holds a Master’s degree in Data Analytics from Atlantic Technological University (ATU) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET), India. He is also an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.
