Ingenium, a global management consultancy firm headquartered in Limerick, has announced the appointment of two new Directors to its senior management team, Olivia Hayes and Caroline Murphy, effective immediately. With these new appointments, Ingenium has achieved an equal split on its senior team in terms of gender diversity for the first time since the company was founded in 2015.

Olivia has been appointed as Director of Youth Development and Caroline as Director of Human Performance. Both Directors will work from Ingenium’s headquarters in Limerick City and will report directly to the CEO, Dr James Ring.

This announcement marks an important milestone for the company in its bid to promote and sustain diversity in the workplace. Ingenium CEO, Dr James Ring, is calling on other Irish businesses to examine their diversity strategies and practices, to ensure they are building and maintaining a fair and equal work environment.

Dr James Ring, CEO of Ingenium, said: “Diversity in business is not just a ‘nice to have’ idea to mention on a company website. It is a real competitive edge to be able to draw from a diverse array of ideas, skills and approaches to challenges. Companies that don’t realise this will likely find themselves left behind. We are extremely proud at Ingenium to have achieved the milestone of an equal gender split on our company’s senior team.”

In her new role, Olivia will plan and oversee activities surrounding the Pathway Programme, the firm’s youth performance solution for students in their senior cycle of secondary school, and in their early years of university, college or post leaving cert courses. Caroline will oversee Ingenium’s Human Performance Team, which provides a broad range of services across the entire employee life cycle which add direct value to client businesses by improving human performance in the workplace.

Dr James Ring added: “Olivia and Caroline’s work and input has been invaluable to Ingenium and will continue to be in the future, and these appointments are very well deserved. It is an unfortunate reality that women are under-represented at the top levels of business and we are trying to play our small part in addressing this issue and are urging other companies to do the same.

At this stage we have seen so many strong examples of great female business leaders. I genuinely believe that any companies that aren’t examining their diversity and inclusion practices to ensure they are fit for purpose are depriving themselves of the opportunity to become the best versions of themselves.”

Olivia has worked at Ingenium since 2017 and has held roles including Programme Manager and Programme Lead. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Limerick Institute of Technology. Caroline previously served as a Learning and Development Specialist at Ingenium. Prior to this she served as a People and Culture Partner at TTM Healthcare and an Organisational Psychology Consultant at Aon Assessment Solutions. She holds an MSc in Work and Organisational Psychology and a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Limerick, as well as a Diploma in Employment Law from the Open University.

Ingenium specialises in human and organisational performance solutions for companies operating in the engineering and energy sectors and was founded in 2015 by former CEO of Kentz, Dr. Hugh O’Donnell, who serves on the Ingenium Board and is the firm’s Director of Consulting. Ingenium has offices in Limerick, Australia and the United States, and serves a global client base including ExxonMobil, Northern Trust, EnerMech, Doncasters and Lidl. The company’s goal is to be the global leader in the delivery of human and organisational performance solutions.
