Kathryn Buckley & Amy Horgan, Associates
O’Flynn Exhams LLP

Two graduate appointments have been announced at the law firm O’Flynn Exhams, as part of their trainee programme for associates.

Kathryn Buckley has been appointed to the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department with a focus on data protection. She started with the firm as an intern in 2020, advanced within the organisation and enrolled on the coveted trainee programme. There, she will gain hands-on, client-facing experience in preparation for a role as an associate lawyer.

Commenting on her appointment, Kathryn Buckey said, “The rotations across each department in the firm have given me a strong foundational knowledge to be able to assist wherever the need arises. As the number of trainees and paralegals continues to grow, it means there is a nice cohort of junior staff who collaborate well and actively support each other. The open-door policy in OFX is extremely beneficial and means any questions you have get answered directly by partners, who are approachable and friendly, creating an inclusive and encouraging work environment.”

Amy Horgan has been appointed to the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She joins the firm after two years of combined work and study for the Professional Practice Course programme with The Law Society of Ireland.

Speaking on her appointment, Amy Horgan said, “OFX fosters an open-door culture, and my training solicitor, as well as the solicitors in various departments, provided excellent mentorship. This created a supportive learning environment which allowed me to build on practical skills and take on responsibility early in my traineeship. It’s an approach that reflects the collegial and collaborative environment within the office, and one that allowed me to successfully balance my academic commitments and professional responsibilities during my traineeship.”

Micheál Ó Mulláin, Managing Partner at O’Flynn Exhams LLP, added, “It’s a source of great pride and satisfaction for us all at the firm to have Amy and Kathryn join us as fully-fledged associates, having completed a robust training programme that will stand to them as we continue to deliver for our client base.”

Conor Flanagan, Practice Director
Storm Technology

Conor Flanagan has been appointed as Storm Technology’s Practice Director.

Flanagan joined Storm Technology in 2020 as a Financial Reporting Consultant, where he delivered financial reporting and ERP advisory services. He later progressed to ERP Team Lead, overseeing a multidisciplinary team focused on Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Before joining Storm, he held several roles, including Chair of the Technology Committee at Chartered Accountants Ireland, Senior Auditor at Grant Thornton, and accountancy positions with Finnegan Gibson.

In his new role, Conor Flanagan will be responsible for the leadership, growth, and strategic direction of the company’s Business Central Practice.

Commenting on his appointment, he said, “I’m pleased to take on the role as Practice Director for Storm’s Dynamics 365 Business Central division, as we help organisations modernise their finance and operational systems, while maintaining strong reporting frameworks. Having led complex ERP projects across multiple industries, I look forward to leveraging my experience to deliver the highest standard of service for my team, our clients and their businesses.”

Karl Flannery, CEO of Storm Technology, added, “Conor’s combined background as a Chartered Accountant and ERP practice leader enables him to bring a strong blend of financial, technical and commercial expertise to his role at Storm Technology. His skill set sits at the intersection of finance teams, operational users and technology platforms, ensuring that Business Central implementations deliver real business value rather than purely technical outcomes.”

Mediolanum, an international funds company, has appointed Martin Reeves as Head of High Yield Fixed Income, a newly created role.

Previously, he was Director and Head of Global Credit Research at AllianceBernstein, where he oversaw credit research across multiple sectors and regions.

Commenting on his appointment, Martin Reeves said, “Mediolanum stands out for its strong investment culture and long-term, client-focused mindset.
