Visa’s Paul J. Walsh among panellists for CIO 100 2018 at the CCD

Distinguished guests from all walks of technology and information life will congregate at the Convention Centre Dublin for CIO 100 2018.

The Business & Finance annual event, celebrating the top 100 Chief Information Officers (CIO) in Ireland, coincides with the Dublin Tech Summit, Ireland’s top technology event, at the Convention Centre Dublin.

A panel of experts will discuss the topic of ‘Information Influx: the Challenges Facing CIOs’, revolving around the evolving state of information and data, consumer tech trends, embracing real-world challenges such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data, addressing talent shortages and last-minute GDPR preparation.

The panel of experts, moderated by Brian Honan, Owner of BH Consulting, is made up of Brian Martin, Head of Strategy and Planning, eir business; Ken Anderson, CTO Mingo and Lead Developer Advocate, Hashgraph/Swirlds; Paul J. Walsh, SVP, Visa Platform Strategy and Innovation, Visa; Anne-Marie Bohan, Partner, Matheson and Dr Vivienne Mee, Founder, VMGroup.

Among these high-profile panellists, Paul J. Walsh is responsible for leading Visa’s open platform initiative that launched in 2016. Paul also oversees the platform that provides open access to Visa technology, products and services, which allow developers at merchants, financial institutions, technology companies and start-ups to build unique commerce experiences.

Prior to Visa, Paul was Co-founder and CEO of Omniscient Technology Group and served as the Global CIO at Dell Inc., responsible for leading a team of 10,000 people, stewarding a budget of $1.2 billion and managing an efficient and innovative global team.

His previous roles were with companies like Sears Holdings Corporation, Amazon, Microsoft and Quest Strategy.
