The Business & Finance Awards Programme in association with KPMG are delighted to announce a new Business for Good partnership with UNICEF.

The partnership is a new and significant initiative expanding the Business & Finance Awards Programme with the objective of building a vitally important bridge between the business community and Business for Good through this special partnership with UNICEF and the outstanding humanitarian work by the UNICEF team.

Over the two years of the Covid Pandemic UNICEF led one of the most important global initiatives working across the corporate sector to fund the UNICEF ‘ Get a Vaccine Give A Vaccine ‘ campaign. The success of this resulted in a vast number of vaccines to be delivered across the world through UNICEF’s inspiring programme.

UNICEF is today at the forefront of the humanitarian response in Eastern Ukraine reaching vulnerable children and families affected by the conflict with essential services including supporting the healthcare systems, delivering essential vaccines and repairing schools and water points damaged by bombardments and ensuring access to drinking water for more than 1.7m people. In addition, UNICEF continues their unyielding work across 190 Countries to help children in the greatest need including Afghanistan, Yemen, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia & Syria.

President and Publisher of Business & Finance, Ian Hyland, said:

“Along with our partners KPMG, I am delighted to announce this very special Business for Good partnership with UNICEF and the Business & Finance Awards Programme. UNICEF has been unyielding in their incredible work for and support of children in the most challenging environments  across 190 Countries. The announcement of this special Partnership with UNICEF comes at a most critical time. I look forward to working with Peter Power and his incredible team to engage with the Irish and international business community “

He added, quoting Theodore Roosevelt, ‘In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.’

Peter Power, UNICEF Ireland Executive Director, said: “We are delighted to be working with Business & Finance. There is a heightened awareness now about the need for comprehensive ESG strategies across business and UNICEF is an ideal partner for Irish companies. We look forward to working with the Business and Finance team to demonstrate how UNICEF can be an ideal “Business for Good” partner.”
