Business & Finance, in partnership with Ibec, the group that represents Irish business, is proud to announce the Top 100 Companies Leading in Wellbeing Index 2023

This is the third such iteration of the Index, with it having been first established in 2021.

“We are honoured to be working with our partners Ibec to recognise the companies that place employee wellbeing at the top of their priority list. It is imperative for businesses that the wellness of the entire team plays a core part of their business strategy to cultivate a healthy and rewarding working environment which is crucial for business and employee development,” said Ian Hyland, Publisher, Business & Finance.

In recent years, employee wellbeing has continued to rise further up the agenda for employers. Public awareness of the importance of good workplace mental health and wellbeing is also growing. To move beyond good intention and to realise a true culture of wellbeing, employers must make positive health and wellbeing a core business priority.

The Index will be launched at 10am IST on Thursday 27 April, 2023 on businessandfinance.com. There will also be an event hosted that afternoon by Ibec in the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge, wherein the top six companies for 2023 will be awarded at a special lunch. The event will also recognise companies that have excelled across key areas of their KeepWell accreditations during the last year through the Best in Class awards. These awards include:

Company of the Year – Large

Company of the Year – SME

Best in Class – Leadership

Best in Class – Mental Health

Best in Class – Physical Health

Best in Class – Nutrition

The winning companies are recognised for their ongoing commitment to supporting employee health and wellbeing, and for demonstrating particular innovation in their wellbeing strategies.

Not only will this event mark the publication of the Leading in Wellbeing Index 2023, it will also mark Ibec’s 9th National Workplace Wellbeing Day. There is a broad array of industries represented, both in the public and private sectors.

The lunch will be hosted by TV presenter and designer, Brendan Courtney. Event details can be found here.

Danny McCoy, Chief Executive Officer of Ibec, said: “It’s important to recognise the efforts being made by businesses in supporting the wellbeing of their people.

“Environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria is now driving how investors evaluate companies. Mental health and overall wellbeing of employees is increasingly forming part of the measurable foundation of the ‘S’ within ESG.

“A positive, proactive approach to the promotion of mental and physical wellbeing can lead to benefits for individuals and organisations, including improvements in productivity, employee engagement and reduced levels of absenteeism.

“We know that improved wellbeing has a far-reaching impact, not only for your employees, but for their families and communities too.”
