Dr Nora Khaldi

Biotech founder Dr Nora Khaldi started her career in 2008 as leader and manager of computational bioactive discovery at Food for Health Ireland. She later held roles as a Global Investigator at UC Davis and UCD between 2011 and 2014.

In 2014, she founded Nuritas, a biotech company using AI and synthetic biology to discover, validate, and patent peptides from natural sources. The company focuses on food-derived ingredients designed to improve health.

An alumnus of Trinity College, Khaldi obtained her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics there. She also completed a Master’s in Pure Mathematics and Computer Science at Aix-Marseille University, graduating in 2004.

Building on her foundation as a mathematician and bioinformatician, Khaldi became the first scientist to show gene transfer between multicellular species. This breakthrough challenged long-standing evolutionary models. Her publications rank among the top 2% globally in biology and medicine. She has also developed software tools now used in over 70 countries. Today, she leads Nuritas with the goal of delivering life-changing, health-promoting ingredients to billions worldwide.

Nuritas

Founded in 2014, Nuritas has grown into a global leader in AI-driven peptide discovery. The company has built the world’s largest peptide library and developed patented ingredients backed by clinical research.

Its innovations include PeptiStrong™, which supports muscle health, and PeptiYouth™, an anti-ageing ingredient. Both are derived from natural sources and clinically validated. Nuritas has raised more than $75 million in funding, including a €30 million investment from the European Investment Bank. It also collaborates with multinational partners such as Nestlé, Mars, BASF, and Pharmavite.

With hubs in Europe and the US, Nuritas continues to expand its mission to transform how the world discovers and accesses health-promoting molecules.
