Fenergo
Fenergo was established in 2009, after the financial crash of 2008. A fintech company, Fenergo provides cloud-based software which helps banks and financial institutions manage Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) efficiently and stay compliant with global regulations.
Their platform automates complex regulations such as Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, and tax compliance under frameworks like FATCA and CRS.
Investment
Fenergo is set to create 300 jobs in Dublin, and another 200 globally, as part of a €100m investment. Most of the roles will be for software engineers, with additional positions in senior AI engineering and product management to be created over the next three years.
“This recruitment initiative is really to solidify our position as the number one in the global market in the financial technology and financial crime space,” said Fenergo CEO Marc Murphy in the Irish Times.
Marc Murphy
A DCU-graduate with a BSc in Computer, Marc Murphy started his carrer as a software engineer at Ergo in 1997. He then became a pre-sales consultant for 2 years, before becoming Sales Director in 2004.
After the 2008 financial crisis, Fenergo was founded to help banks open new customer accounts. As the focus shifted toward closing accounts and tightening compliance, Marc recognised a new opportunity – supporting banks with the complex regulatory processes involved – allowing his business to thrive.
