Business Person of the Month January 2024: Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter, oversees company’s official launch on the New York Stock Exchange

Flutter Entertainment's CEO Peter Jackson Leads NYSE Launch — Business Person of the Month January 2024

Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter Entertainment, celebrating the company's successful launch on the New York Stock Exchange.

Peter Jackson, CEO of Paddy Power owner Flutter, has overseen the company’s official launch on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Jackson is our Business Person of the Month January 2024, in association with KPMG Ireland.

NYSE

Flutter CEO, Peter Jackson, has overseen the debut of the company’s New York Stock Exchange-listed shares. This comes shortly after the announcement late last year that the betting entertainment specialist would switch from its Irish listing to focus on the United States.

Last November, the Dublin-based conglomerate, which owns brands Paddy Power and Betfair, announced that it intends to register with the Securities and and Exchange Commission in the US.

The company proposes moving the primary listing of its shares from London to New York in May. Its secondary listing of ordinary shares on Euronext Dublin was cancelled at 8am, 29th January.

Speaking about this move on the 29th, Mr Jackson said: “With our NYSE listing effective today, this is a pivotal moment for the Group as we make Flutter more accessible to US based investors and gain access to deeper capital market.

“We believe a US primary listing is the natural home for Flutter given Fanduel’s #1 position in the US, a market which we expect to contribute the largest proportion of profits in the near future.”

The group has been planning a US listing since 2023 after a period of business growth, in part due to the lifting of a sports betting ban in the country in 2018.

Flutter generated $4.59 billion in sales in the US last year, an increase of $243m in 2018.

Peter Jackson

Mr Jackson has been Group CEO of Flutter Entertainment since January 2018. He joined the company as Non-Executive Director in 2013, prior to its rebrand.

Boasting an impressive CV, he has held senior positions in various companies, including Lloyd’s Banking Group, Travalex, Banco Santander, Worldpay and Deliveroo.
