Greencore is on track to return to pre-pandemic revenues of £105 million this year. The Dublin-based group is our Company of the Month October 2024, in association with KPMG.
Headquartered in Dublin, Greencore is a leading manufacturer of convenience foods distributed across Ireland and the United Kingdom. The company directly employs over 13,600 people.
It provides frozen, condiments and to-go foods throughout the two islands. Last year, Greencore manufactured more than 779m sandwiches. The company owns 16 manufacturing sites and 17 distribution centres. Through these, the company executes about 10,000 direct-to-store daily deliveries.
The current CEO of Greencore Dalton Phillips joined the company two years prior after serving as CEO at Morrisons between 2010 and 2015. Under his direction, the company generated revenues of £1.9 billion in Fiscal Year 2023. In October, shares in the company increased by about 9% to £1.96.
At the same time, the company’s net debts, excluding lease liabilities, have decreased to approximately £148 million. This compares with £154 million last fiscal year.
“The Greencore team delivered an outstanding performance with our FY24 results now expected to exceed current market expectations. Providing high-quality, fresh and healthy food to our customers every day is at the heart of what we do,” Philips said. “As we enter the new financial year, our focus remains on making really great food, rebuilding our profitability, and positioning Greencore to be the UK’s leading convenience foods manufacturer.”
