Diversity in Tech Awards 2020 winners’ webinar to be broadcast as part of Microsoft for Startups one week event, ‘Ready, Set, Scale’

The winners of the Diversity in Tech Awards 2020 will come together to facilitate a conversation on their successful career paths as part of Microsoft for Startups’ one week event, ‘Ready, Set, Scale’

A celebratory webinar created to highlight the work of the Diversity in Tech Awards 2020 winners, ‘How I got here and where I’m going’ will explore the journey each winner has undergone on their career path, and will facilitate a discussion of plans they have for the future.

The webinar, slated for broadcast on 2nd December at 5pm GMT, will feature as part of the Microsoft for Startups one week event, ‘Ready Set, Scale’, taking place from November 30th – December 3rd.

Exclusively for Microsoft for Startups members and partners, this week is designed to connect attendees with experts who will aid them in bringing their business to the next level. Day sessions concentrate on a specific theme, including legal, commercial, talent acquisition and finance. Attendees will also have the opportunity to book one-to-one commercial and technical sessions with Microsoft for Startups and speakers.

Bio: Amanda Obidike is a Data Scientist and Educationist. She is the Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa, and currently serves on the Leadership team of 500 Women Scientists: An organization that makes science more inclusive, open and accessible for young women and girls.

Anna Radulovski

Title: CEO & Founder

Bio: Anna Radulovski is an entrepreneur, founder and advocate for diversity in tech, passionate about startups and innovation. She is Founder at Coding Girls, a global non-profit helping girls and women to get into technology and develop a tech-career as well as Founder and CEO at WomenTech Network, connecting diverse professionals with companies that put diversity and inclusion first and provide an environment of belonging. As a partner at Tech Family Ventures and Regional Director at the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute, the largest pre-seed accelerator worldwide, she invests in early-stage founders helping them to shape their business model, MVP and to raise capital. Anna and her work have been featured in Forbes, Bloomberg TV, Fortune, CNET, DW, Silicon Luxembourg, RTL and she is a frequent speaker at large tech and business events like WeAreDevelopers World Congress, WEBIT, EBAN Summit, DrupalCon and many more.

Bio: Sindhu Joseph is the Founder and CEO of CogniCor, the leading AI Digital Assistant platform that delivers revolutionary operational efficiency and productivity for financial firms. She holds a PHd in AI, is inventor of 6 patents, author and speaker on topics around Enterprise AI and diversity in AI.

Description of your organization and the work you do: CogniCor is the leading AI digital assistant platform that delivers revolutionary operational efficiency and productivity for Financial firms. Our customers are category-leading firms in the wealth and insurance sector in the US Market. We are a global team with core expertise at the intersection of AI, Finance and Enterprise software. The CIRA Platform, purpose built for the financial domain makes it easy to start deploying conversational AI Assistants. CIRA helps to automate  hundreds of routine tasks, including finding relevant information and forms, answering policy related questions and transactional processes like onboarding, status checking, change of information etc. Some of the results that CogniCor’s customers were able to achieve include 35% reduction in calls, 30% reduction in call transfer rates and boosting CSAT scores to 90%.”


Evelyn Nomayo

Title: Founder 

Organisation: Phase Innovate 

Award: International Diverse Role Model of the Year 

Bio: Evelyn Nomayo is an experienced software engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. She is skilled in DevOps, Training Delivery, Management, IOS, Android Development, Java and C# programming language, and is a Ph.D. Research Fellow in Computer Science focused on Advanced Networks for Sustainable Societies – AI, IoT with a focus on self-driving cars – in Trinity College Dublin, Dublin.


Amali de Alwis MBE FRSA (Moderator)

Title: Managing Director 

Organisation: Microsoft for Startups UK

Bio: Amali is responsible for Microsoft’s strategic and commercial direction across Microsoft’s startup and scale-up activities in the UK. Prior to this she was CEO of Code First: Girls – a multi award-winning training company focused on increasing diversity in tech.

Amali was a founding member at Tech Talent Charter, was named the ‘Most Influential Women in UK Technology’ and was awarded an MBE in 2019 for services to diversity and training in the technology industry. She is a board Member at the Raspberry PI Foundation, Ada National College for Digital Skills, and D&I Board at the Institute of Coding.
