Sky Ireland has launched a €250,000 AdSmart SME Support Scheme for businesses across the country.
In a move to support businesses that are demonstrating ingenuity during the current Covid-19 crisis, the fund will give 25 companies a free €10,000 television advertising campaign on the Sky AdSmart platform. The aim of the scheme is to help SMEs reach customers through TV advertisements, at a time when television consumption is up.
We want to help SME’s navigate this difficult time by helping them to create impactful advertising that will enable them to connect with the audiences that really matter to them via AdSmart.
Businesses can nominate themselves for the scheme or be put forward by a media agency. To be considered eligible, a company must have been in operation for at least one year and have up to 50 full-time employees.
A wide variety of businesses will be selected for the scheme and will include those who are new to TV or who haven’t advertised on TV in the past 12 months. They will be assisted in the creation of their advertisements by local advertising agencies.
The free advertising campaigns will be delivered on Sky’s platform, AdSmart. This technology targets households by location or lifestyle. This way, businesses can advertise to potential customers with greater accuracy. AdSmart is already used by over 100 brands in 400 ad campaigns in Ireland.
Malcolm Murray, Director of Ireland Sales, Sky Media, said: “Right now, businesses throughout Ireland are facing some of the toughest challenges they have ever encountered. SMEs are a hugely important contributor to the Irish economy, accounting for over 1 million employees or 68.4% of total employment in Irish business. We want to help SMEs navigate this difficult time by helping them to create impactful advertising that will enable them to connect with the audiences that really matter to them via AdSmart.”
