Healthcare services company Uniphar announced a number of acquisitions in November, broadening its reach and adding new countries to its roster in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Company of the Month for November 2019, healthcare and drug distribution group Uniphar entered the Nordic and Baltic markets through strategic acquisitions in November.
It acquired leading international medtech service provider EPS Group as well as Irish medtech service provider M3 Medical.
Uniphar is set to pay €40m over four years for the two businesses, with the deferred consideration linked to earnings performance over the period. The companies are expected to add €22m to the company’s revenues between them for the year ended December 31st, 2019. Both of the acquisitions provide services to medical device manufacturers in areas of cardiology and vascular medicine.
EPS Group includes EPS Vascular and EP Endovascular, both registered in Sweden, and EPS Vascular registered in Finland–overall the group is active across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Baltics, while M3 Medical’s operates exclusively in the Irish market.
“These acquisitions are a key strategic step in Uniphar’s plan to offer its pharmaco-medical clients a pan-European service by adding new countries and new agencies to our roster,” said Uniphar chief executive Ger Rabbette.
“With this development we add to our already considerable expertise in the area of interventional technologies in key therapeutic areas, and Uniphar advances its ambition to become a leading independent distributor of medical devices throughout Europe. ”
