Dublin Tech Summit asks “Where’s my flying car?”

Dublin Tech Summit, Europe’s “most exciting” tech festival, will feature a panel on the evolving promises of technology.


Dublin Tech Summit has launched a full agenda, which includes a diverse range of keynotes, talks and panel discussions on all areas of cutting-edge technology.

Esteemed speakers from industry leaders like Airbus, alongside a distinguished member from the AI Council, and Co-Founder of Future Mobility, will explore the contrasts between past technological forecasts and the exciting advancements being promised today.

This session will uncover why certain past promises have not been realised and evaluate the potential of current innovations to reshape our future.

Dr Grzegorz (Greg) Ombach, Head of Disruptive R&T, Senior Vice President,
Airbus

Dr Grzegorz (Greg) Ombach is a seasoned senior executive and experienced board member with a deep passion for driving innovation and change.

With a proven track record of success in engineering, strategy and commercial expertise and a truly global outlook from across Europe, the USA, and China, he has successfully led the development and implementation of game-changing innovations that have disrupted industries and driven growth.

His ability to drive transformative change across multiple industries, from research to automotive, semiconductors to aviation, and from corporate to medium and small businesses to startups, has earned him a reputation as a dynamic leader who consistently delivers results.

Dr. Wassim Derguech, COO & Co-founder,
Future Mobility Campus Ireland

Dr. Wassim Derguech is Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of FMCI – Prior to joining FMCI, Wassim was a product owner and agile delivery lead at Jaguar Land Rover Ireland where he was leading the platform reliability engineering team responsible for the deployment solution of the cloud infrastructure for managing real-time vehicle data. Wassim worked as the technical manager at Derilinx, an SME that develops Open Data solutions for clients (such as the Irish Government, Central Statistics Office, the World Bank group and others) interested in publishing, linking, analysing and visualising their data using Linked Open Data principles.

Wassim is the chairperson of Shannon Chamber Skillnet Steering Committee member of Robots, Cobots and Robotics Technical Committee TC49 of the National Standards Authority of Ireland. He also worked as a research scientist at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, National University of Ireland, Galway where got his PhD and worked as the technical lead and solution architect for various national and European projects.

Wassim is also the coordinator of EALU-AER project which is Ireland’s first Digital Sky Demonstrator of U-space services. EALU-AER is a SESAR JU project co-funded by the European Commission – CINEA – European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency.

Stephen Kinsella, Professor of Economics & Head of Department
University of Limerick (a member of Ireland’s AI Advisory Council)

Stephen Kinsella is Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Limerick, Co-Director of UL’s Immersive Software Engineering programme and a Member of Ireland’s AI Advisory Council.

A familiar and friendly face on the global XR scene as a Host, Moderator, Keynoter and Judge

Muki is a multi-award-winning Chief Innovation Officer, Executive XR Producer and Creative Technologist with over two decades of pioneering interactive, immersive experiences for music,sports, entertainment & broadcasting. She was recently appointed the UK Ambassador for Women in Immersive Technologies Europe (WIIT), the NGO she’s been heavily involved with since its inception in 2016 that aims to create an inclusive network of talented women and those who identify as women, who are driving and inspiring the immersive virtual, augmented and mixed reality sectors.

Muki is also the Innovation Lead for IBC’s (International Broadcasting Convention) Accelerators Media Innovation Programme, steering high-level consortiums to develop open collaboration & solutions for industry-recognised challenges in XR Emerging Media and Broadcast Engineering, exploring verticles such as Synthetic Humans, Talent ID/IP, Volumetric Video, 5G Motion Capture for Live Performance & Animation, Real-Time XR Sport, Interoperable 3D Assets, MetaData, Blockchain, Spatial Audio, Inclusion/Accessibility & more.
