New speakers announced for Dublin Tech Summit 2024

Dublin Tech Summit has announced the latest round of speakers to feature at DTS 2024.

The two day summit, taking place 29 and 30 May, 2024, will bring together global tech leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs, and is expected to attract over 8,000 attendees and hundreds of speakers from all over the world.


Speakers

Omar Hatamleh, Chief Advisor, Artificial Intelligence & Innovation, NASA

Dr. Omar Hatamleh is currently the Chief Advisor for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation at Goddard Space Flight Center and the Lead for NASA IT Strategy at NASA Headquarters. He is responsible for creating the AI Strategy and identifying and integrating cutting-edge AI and technology solutions that support NASA’s missions and goals. Dr. Hatamleh was also the former Chief Innovation Officer, Engineering at NASA (2015 – March 2020).

Prior to this, he was the Deputy Chief Scientist at NASA ARC responsible for identifying new and promising areas of scientific research and supporting technologies that can be integrated into the Centre’s capabilities. He has 27 years’ experience at NASA and has published over 33 international journal articles in engineering, and has received multiple awards and recognitions from NASA, including the Silver Achievement Medal, the NASA Innovation Award, and the Superior Achievement Award.

He holds four engineering degrees, speaks four languages. Dr. Hatamleh is recognized as one of the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders in Artificial Intelligence has been an invited keynote speaker to various events including G20, Google, IBM, Dell, European Investment Fund, and has been featured in various media like CNN, Forbes, and more


Sasha Rubel, Head of Public Policy for AI and Machine Learning at Amazon Web Services (AWS), EMEA, Amazon

Sasha Rubel is Head of Public Policy for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. She previously worked at UNESCO on AI and digital innovation, is involved in international AI governance initiatives, and is a member of the OECD AI Network of Experts and Ireland’s AI Advisory Council.

Begüm Genç McEvoy, Data Scientist, Apple
Dr. Begüm Genç McEvoy is a Data Scientist at Apple and also the Ireland Ambassador of Women in AI. She holds a bachelors degree and masters degree in Computer Engineering. She earned her Ph.D degree from University College Cork on her work on robust Stable Marriages. After her studies, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher in UCC and also lectured at various colleges.
Driven by her passion for shaping the future of AI, her interests focuses on trustworthy AI notions by focusing on explanation and fairness in optimisation, constraint satisfaction problems, and responsible algorithm design. She speaks at various national and international venues, organises workshops and events, contributes to innovation funds and top conferences in her field.

Dr Grzegorz (Greg) Ombach, Head of Disruptive R&T, Senior Vice President, Airbus
Dr. Grzegorz (Greg) Ombach is a dynamic leader passionate about navigating technological innovation from concept to global market success. Currently serving as Airbus’s Head of Disruptive R&T, he drives innovation across divisions, leveraging his extensive global experience. In his prior role at Dräxlmaier, as EVP and Head of Battery Systems Business, Greg formulated business strategy and oversaw the production of cutting-edge automotive technology, including an 800V battery system for the Porsche Taycan. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a Certificate in Global Management, Greg has a robust background, earning him a Guest Professorship at Zhejiang University in China.

Dharma Mehta, Director of Technical Program Management, Roku
Dharma Mehta is Director of Technical Program Management at Roku, producers of streaming devices and smart TVs. Mehta creates solutions to challenging technological problems that require leadership at the intersection of people, process, and technology. He has previously held positions at PayPal, Amazon, and Accenture.

David Moloney, Chief Scientist , Ubotica

David is a veteran technologist and entrepreneur with multiple trade-sales and an IPO under his belt. While at Movidius David co-authored the H2020 Eyes of Things (EoT) proposal and drove the project to a very successful conclusion both technically and commercially as one of the spin-outs was Ubotica.

He has been the Chief Scientist at Ubotica since Jan 2021 and an advisor at the company since inception in 2016. Formerly he was CTO and co-founder at IntelMovidius and has worked in the semiconductor industry since qualifying with a BEng from DCU in 1985 and PhD from TCD in 2010.

He co-founded Movidius as CTO in 2005 which went on to pioneer low-power embedded vision and neural network processing in edge devices before being acquired by Intel in November 2016. He also co-authored numerous funding proposals including Horizon Europe NeuroSoC, H2020 Bonseyes and participated in multiple FP7 projects. He has been granted 41 US patents and has published numerous journal and conference papers.


Shahinaz H’Midouche, Senior New Business Strategist, Google

Shahinaz H’Midouche is Senior New Business Strategist at Google. She has over 4 years of Account Management experience, and has specialised in Google Add.

As a senior New Business Account Strategist for the UKI market within the Global Customer Solutions at Google’s EU Headquarters, she uses influencing and relationship-building skills to provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis while anticipating how decisions are made, understanding the details of individual campaigns and persistently exploring and uncovering the business needs of key clients.


Conor Sheridan, Founder & CEO, Nory.ai

Conor Sheridan is Founder and CEO of Nory.ai, a restaurant management software start-up. Sheridan founded the company due to the lack of management software for restaurants.


Dr. Julien Weissenberg, Founder & AI Expert, Deep Tech Experts

Dr. Julien Weissenberg founded Deep Tech Experts, a team of world-class experts who are at the forefront of their fields.


Niamh Donnelly, Co-founder and Chief Robotics Officer, Akara Robotics

Niamh Donnelly is a co-founder and Chief Robotics Officer at Akara Robotics, a healthcare robotics company building groundbreaking technology to enhance infection control and patient safety in hospitals. Niamh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Masters in AI and ML. She has previously held engineering positions at Etsy and Syze AI and worked as an AI consultant at some of the biggest insurance and banking firms in Ireland. She has won national awards for her AI research in the area of Convolutional Neural Networks and was awarded the prestigious ‘EU Top Rising Innovator’ award by the European Commission.
