Levelling the Playing Field: Dublin Tech Summit to explore latest business opportunities in gaming

Dublin Tech Summit, one of Europe’s leading tech festivals, will feature a joint fireside on business opportunities in gaming, as well as efforts to address sexism in the sector.


Dublin Tech Summit, having recently launched its full agenda, has announced a wide range of panels, keynotes and talks on subjects encompassing all areas of technology.

More than 40% of the global population are gamers. At Dublin Tech Summit 2024, in a special joint fireside, gaming industry leaders will explore the latest business opportunities in gaming, as well as efforts to address sexism in the sector.

The panellists, including executives from Unity, Guild Esports, and Epic Global, will delve into topics such as platform, licensing, playable characters, and more. This session promises insights into the evolving landscape of the gaming industry and the technical measures being taken to address gender disparities.

Marc Whitten, Chief Technology and Product Officer,
Unity

Marc Whitten oversees our Create Solutions business which includes Games, Media & Entertainment (TV, Film, Animation, Virtual Production), AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction), ATM (Automotive, Transport, Manufacturing), Defense at Unity.

As one of the first Xbox employees, Marc led the Xbox Live service for many years and was behind three generations of the Xbox console and platforms, ultimately serving as the VP and Chief Product Officer for Xbox. After a two-year stint as CPO at Sonos, Marc has spent the last five years leading a broad selection of the entertainment devices at Amazon, most notably Fire TV, Kindle, the new Luna gaming service, and Fire Tablet.

Common to all of these businesses has been creating the tools for creators to connect with hundreds of millions of users — from Xbox Live bringing friends together to play, to TruePlay on Sonos making it possible to hear the music as the artist intended, to Alexa search making it easy to find something great to watch on Fire TV.


Trev Keane, Managing Director & Co-founder,
Epic Global

Trev Keane is one of Europe’s leading esports & gaming executives, specialising in bridging the gap between traditional sports and esports. Over the past decade he has helped some of the biggest rights holders and athletes in the world seamlessly enter the ever-growing industries of gaming and esports.

An industry thought leader and international speaker, he also helped establish and is an active board member of Ireland’s first esports governing body, Esports Ireland.

Prior to launching Epic Global, Trev established a number of companies at the intersection of sports and technology industry, in addition to publishing two books and serving as both a mentor and advisor for a number of International Tech Start up funds. He holds a BA in Accounting and Finance and a MSC in Digital Marketing, along with 15 years experience across the International Finance industry.


Jasmine Skee, CEO,
Guild Esports

Jasmine Skee is CEO of Guild Esports, the esports team and entertainment gaming brand invested in by David Beckham.

A commercially driven leader, Jasmine has secured valuable sponsorships with Sky and launched new initiatives driving further revenue like Guild Studios – a Gen-Z focused in-house production and creative agency helping brands immerse themselves within gaming culture.

Bringing over 20 years’ marketing and senior management experience, leading high-performance teams and delivering compelling campaigns, Jas is the UK’s only female CEO of a publicly listed esports organization.

A career spanning, sports, music, tech, gaming and entertainment Jasmine’s previous roles include Director of Propositions & Products at Three UK where she delivered partnerships with global brands Chelsea FC, Activision and Snap. Jas also held the title of Marketing Director at Live Nation, and prior to this, spent five years at O2 as Head of Music Sponsorship launching the then newly created O2 Priority moments programme.
