Irish CEO receives prestigious accolade at Milan awards ceremony

CEO of Aerogen John Power has been named European Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious 2016 RSM Awards in Milan.

Recognised as Europe’s largest and most significant cross-sector business recognition programme, John Power was chosen to receive the award having been shortlisted from 32,000 companies across 33 countries.

Now in its third year, the European Entrepreneur of the Year accolade was awarded in recognition of Power’s exceptional vision and leadership in the establishment and development of the company.

Aerogen technologies are today used to treat patients in over 70 countries and over 3 million patients have benefited from Aerogen products.

Accepting the award, Power said: “I am proud to accept this award on behalf of the entire Aerogen team. It is their dedication and that of the care givers around the world who use our products to treat the most critically ill patients that has resulted in this success.”

He continued: “Aerogen strives for excellence in everything we do.  We work hand in hand with the respiratory professionals at all levels and this reward is a great reminder of the work that we continue to do to deliver the best possible patient care.”

Participants in the RSM awards represented a combined turnover of over €1.2tn and employ over 2.7 million people.

Ireland was well represented in the European final, making up almost 10% of the finalists in Europe’s biggest business competition.
