Irish drinks company C&C Group has announced a long-term distribution deal with American brewer Pabst Brewing Company to expand in the US market.

C&C Group is a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded cider, beer, wine and soft drinks.

It manufactures Bulmers, Magners and the Tennent’s beer brand, among other brands. It also owns and manufactures Woodchuck and Hornsby’s, two of the leading craft cider brands in the US.

The Group’s Irish wholesaling subsidiary, Gleeson group, owns and manufactures Tipperary Water and Finches soft drinks.

In operation since 1844, Pabst Brewing Company is the largest American-owned brewery.

Under the terms of the deal, Pabst will acquire the licence to distribute, market and sell all of C&C’s cider brands in the US, including Magners and Blackthorn, along with its premium craft cider brands.

The agreement also grants Pabst a long-term option to acquire C&C’s US cider brands and related assets.
