Philip highlights the array of products which Canon has to offer yet consumers will still only ask for one thing. Attempting to get every customer engaged with the wide range of products and services at Canon’s disposal is the biggest challenge facing the business at the moment – the mantra of ‘sell one more thing’.
Another avenue which Canon has been looking at is ‘pay for print’, which will bring businesses to the next level. In the range of printers in Canon’s arsenal is the Colorado, a UV-gel based machine, which will allow companies produce more dynamic imagery and bespoke company wallpaper (a growing trend).
Canon also has an Essential Business Builder Program, a consultancy concept that informs customers on their market, where the market is going and where it’s growing.
One of the the major innovations is the shift from litho (lithographic) printing to inkjet; the former is for large runs. Canon has launched the i300, which has all the ability of litho printing but with the flexibility to perform short runs with transactional printing.
In Ireland, Canon operates from its purpose-built, state-of-the-art headquarters in Citywest Business Park, Dublin and employs approximately 50 people. Canon Ireland prides itself on being a highly customer-focused company which supplies not just innovative products but also the highest level of service and IT support and consulting. This approach has led to the Canon brand being leader in many of its markets.
