Logitech is the Business & Finance FDI of the Month December 2020
Logitech Ireland is the Business & Finance FDI of the Month December 2020. The award-winning design company and maker of computer peripheral products has announced the creation of over 50 new jobs in its Cork location in areas including design, engineering, supply chain and IT over the next three years.
Founded in 1981 in Lausanne, Switzerland, where it is headquartered, the company achieved a number of industry firsts including the infrared cordless mouse, the thumb-operated trackball and the laser mouse. The company’s Irish office was established in Cork in 1988 and moved to its current location on the Kinsale Road in 2013. There, it houses over 200 staff, albeit working from home at the moment.

Logitech president and CEO Bracken Darrell has described the company as transforming into a design company by tapping into trends in gaming, remote work, video collaboration and creativity. He said, speaking to the Irish Times: “This process of reinvention continues. We are innovating with new product experiences every day and driving for positive change in the areas of equality and the environment. All this, thanks to our fantastic teams. As a company, we have a strong flexible working culture, with employees contributing to Logitech’s business from locations all over the world. Cork is a key link in that chain, and we’re keen to see more talent join our colleagues there.”
Tánaiste & Minister for Enterprise Trade & Employment Leo Varadkar TD commented on the news of the job creation. “I am very pleased that Logitech has announced the creation of 50 new jobs over the next three years at their office in Cork.
