Vanessa Hartley, Managing Director EMEA Large Customer Sales (LCS)

Google Ireland has announced the appointment of Vanessa Hartley as Managing Director of its EMEA Large Customer Sales (LCS) Hub based in Dublin.

Ms. Hartley joined Google in 2014 and has worked in multiple EMEA roles including leading Central Europe and most recently leading EMEA Central Operations and Planning before being named Managing Director of Google’s EMEA LCS Hub based at Google Dublin.

“We’ve seen significant shifts in consumer expectations over the past two years and consequently how our customers have reimagined their strategies. In addition, we have many new Googlers who joined over the past two years, so starting the process of returning to the office and engaging our hybrid work model is an exciting moment for our teams. As we do this, we will listen, learn, grow and adapt – that’s always been the Google way”, she said.

Legal and professional services group Gateley has announced two new partner promotions at its growing Belfast office. Litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, Peter Barr and construction lawyer Mark Lennon have both been made partners in Gateley’s latest round of promotions. These promotions follow on from a recent raft of new appointments at the Belfast office.

“Alongside these promotions, our three recent new additions to our team will support the goal of becoming a full-service commercial legal practice here in Belfast. Our talented team is already experienced in real estate, commercial contracts, construction, employment, procurement, and dispute resolution law”, said Alison Reid, partner and head of the Gateley Belfast office.

A total of 70 promotions were announced across Gateley including eight new partners, nine legal directors, 23 senior associates and 30 new associates.  In addition to Belfast, the promotions span Gateley’s offices in Birmingham, Dubai, Guildford, Leeds, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Reading.

Sherry Communications has announced the promotion of Fiona Thornton to the role of Associate Director. The move will see Ms. Thornton take on a more senior and strategic role for both clients and the business.

A Kerry native, Ms. Thornton joined the Dublin PR agency as an account director in 2018, having already worked with founder, Rachel Sherry at the Irish division of global agency, Grayling PR.

Ms. Thornton directs PR and communications campaigns for a number of the consultancy’s Irish and international clients including Emirates, Visa, Maxol, MAXUS automotive, Matrix Recruitment and specialist tax firm, Fenero. With more than 12 years experience in the PR industry and a specialist interest in corporate communications, she holds a BA in European studies with French from UCC.

Seán O’Connor, Managing Director – Americas & Chief Revenue Officer
Acumen Aviation

Acumen Aviation has announced that Seán O’Connor has been appointed as Managing Director – Americas & Chief Revenue Officer.

Mr. O’Conner was previously our Managing Director & VP Commercial (USA) for Acumen.

Jeremy Edwards, Chief Marketing Officer, passes the baton of responsibility for global sales to Mr. O’Connor as he focuses his  attention to maintaining and strengthening the Acumen brand and marketing activities for the Acumen group,
