Kieran Campbell is Head of Irish Market at Polestar, an electric vehicle performance brand with a dedicated focus on design, innovation and sustainability.
What was your first job?
Setting up a small landscaping business the summer after my Junior Cert.
What pushed you to pursue a career in this field?
From the age of four I remember I was fascinated by cars and my career followed that passion.
What would you regard as your greatest achievement to date?
Establishing and launching a premium Swedish EV brand, Polestar, in Ireland, and being the fastest launched market of the 27 we operate in globally. Twelve weeks from my first day to full market launch.
Career wise, would you do anything differently?
The automotive industry is going through its biggest change in decades, the transition to electric vehicles and a direct to consumer model presents huge opportunities for now and the future. Career wise I am challenged daily and will continue to be.
In one sentence, how would you define success?
Success is a collective effort, build a great team, have everyone facing the same direction and the results will follow.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Keep learning, keep listening, keep asking questions and have confident humility in my abilities and actions.
How do you motivate yourself and your staff?
By encouraging, supporting, and communicating with the team on a daily basis.
How do you handle adversity?
Take a step back and find the cause of the situation, there is a solution for everything.
How do you relax?
Spending time with my wife, little girl and boy and then running daily.
What are your aspirations for the future of business?
To keep growing the brand in Ireland and to successfully launch Polestar 3, 4, 5 and 6.
