Rena Maycock, Founder & CEO, Chirp; Ciaran O’Mara, CTO & Co-founder, Protex AI; Aisling Browne, CEO & CO-founder, Glitch and Fareed Idris, Co-founder & CTO, Kreoh comprised a panel to explore the theme, ‘Disrupting the Disruptive Disrupters’ at Dublin Tech Summit.

Day 2 of Dublin Tech Summit saw panel of tech experts take to the Nexus stage to discuss the theme, ‘Disrupting the Disruptive Disrupters’.

The panel discussion provided an insight into turning disruption to a competitive advantage. They discussed strategies to transform an organisation and thrive in the tech terrain. The panel discussion was moderated by Matthew Chavira, founder of Prophets of AI, an organisation aimed at bridging the gap between science and society.

Ciaran O’Mara, Protex AI said, ‘The tech shift of the last few years has seen some companies rushing to develop an AI strategy, the tech is moving so fast. As start-ups we really need to think about how we can lay the infrastructure and lay the foundations so that when a new model arrives we can pivot.”

Rena Maycock, Chirp, spoke about harnessing the power of AI. Chirp is a built-in child-protection softwaer that makes the internet safer for children. By analysing data coming into and going out of your child’s device, Chirp filters it for offensive content and then alerts parents if there is any imminent danger. Maycock said, ‘We foster a collaborative approach working with parents and children together, to protect their online safety.’ She later noted the research showing that the reason people are so cruel to each other online is because there is an element of human interaction missing.
