Fashion retailer Primark today opened its Boston flagship store, the brand’s first location in the north-east of the USA.
Situated in the historic Burnham Building, Primark’s flagship store will span four floors and will feature a modern design that incorporates the building’s original features.
At the opening, Boston’s mayor Martin J Walsh said: “I’m thrilled to officially welcome Primark to Boston. Primark will bring jobs and increased economic activity for our residents and visitors, and we are grateful they chose Downtown Crossing as the site of their first north-east location.”
Jose Luis Martinez de Larramendi, president, Primark US commented: “Our US plans have been in development for some time now and we are thrilled to introduce the Primark experience to Boston. In addition to our signature ‘amazing fashion, amazing prices,’ we’re committed to providing exceptional service through our customer promise of an easy, caring and fun experience.”
Paul Marchant, CEO, Primark added: “We have chosen the ideal location for our northeastern US home in the city of Boston. We are honoured to be a part of the city’s fabric and to be playing a role in the ongoing vibrancy of the Downtown Crossing neighbourhood, where both our Boston office and first store are located.”
In addition to Boston, Primark has announced plans for another seven stores across the north-east.
