At the Guinness Storehouse, eight companies were awarded the Business Working Responsibly Mark, Ireland’s only certification for responsible and sustainable business practices.
Run by non-profit organisation Business in the Community Ireland, the forum highlights new developments in the area of sustainability to Irish CEOs.
The eight recipients of the Mark, audited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), are Boots Ireland, CRH Ireland, Deloitte Ireland, ESB, Fujitsu Ireland, Gas Networks Ireland, KBC Bank Ireland and Intel Ireland.
The Mark is run by Business in the Community Ireland and is audited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and keynote speakers at the Forum were from Pat O’Doherty, CEO of ESB and Dorman Followwill from Frost & Sullivan.
Speaking at the event, Tina Roche, CEO, Business in the Community Ireland, said: “As the economy grows, businesses in Ireland need to really look at the essential components for responsible and sustainable growth. Burning topics such as work life balance, ethical consumerism and supply chain risks are key areas companies need to focus on. We have driven the agenda on CSR for 15 years and look forward to continually pushing for best practice, as we want all companies in Ireland to be responsible and sustainable.
