O’Donovan has responsibility for developing and promoting the Irish Startup Ecosystem in Ireland and in key international markets. His role includes the development of a new national Startup Ireland platform, including a National Startup Accelerator and National Startup Up Hub, as well as overseeing EI’s €10m Pre-Seed Investment Fund supporting the creation of 1,000 new startups by 2029, as part of Enterprise Ireland’s new Strategy 2025-29.
O’Donovan previously founded the National Enterprise Hub (NEH), a new All of Government service to make it easier for SMEs to access over 250 funding, training and advisory supports from 30 Government departments, which has helped thousands of SMEs to improve competitiveness and expand their businesses and was Head of Global Marketing & Communications at EI for almost a decade. O’Donovan is a recipient of the Irish Times/Smurfit Graduate Business School MBA Scholarship.

Irene O’Gorman joined KPMG Ireland as Chief Marketing Officer in March 2024, following five years leading the Markets function for KPMG in the UAE. Over a distinguished 25-year career, Irene has held senior marketing and business development leadership roles with organisations including Deloitte, Enterprise Ireland and EY, where she led significant brand development and commercial growth initiatives. Her extensive international experience spans the Middle East, South Africa and Australia.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Irene is responsible for KPMG Ireland’s client relationship development programmes and strategic markets planning. She also oversees the firm’s portfolio of high-profile brand sponsorships across business, sport and the arts, including the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
A graduate of University College Dublin, Irene holds a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Business. She has further enhanced her leadership expertise through executive education programmes at London Business School and the Chartered Director Programme with the Institute of Directors.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Irene serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Children’s Health Foundation. Sinéad O’Neill has over 20 years of experience across B2B and B2C sectors. Currently the Chief Marketing Officer for TransferMate, a global fintech unicorn, O’Neill has been instrumental in driving brand growth and market expansion across multiple verticals and territories since joining the company in 2020.
Prior to TransferMate, she held key roles in Aer Lingus, ODEON and 11850. In Aer Lingus, she was responsible for introducing the Tayto crisp sandwich on-board in addition to the Clodagh McKenna chef collaboration. While at 11850, she was responsible for all ATL and BTL marketing for the famous 118 50 runners plus the companies UK (118118), French (118218) and other European directory enquiry brands.
