Group Managing Director of Trilogy Technologies, President of Ibec, and a concert violinist too – Edel Creely is Business Person of the Month for December 2017.

Music’s loss is the technology sector’s gain, as Edel Creely’s decision to forego studying music in favour of engineering led to her co-founding Trilogy Technologies in 2009. Trilogy Technologies is now one of the leading IT Managed Services providers in the Irish market and more recently in the UK. The company has spent 2017 investing heavily cloud and security competencies.

Edel was announced as incoming President of the Irish business and employers’ association Ibec in September 2017, to take up the reins from outgoing President Anne Heraty of Cpl Resources plc. Edel was appointed to the board of Ibec in 2015, and was Deputy President since 2016.

Edel has been a prominent advocate for the indigenous tech sector in Ireland. She was Chair of the Irish Software Association, a forerunner to Ibec’s Technology Ireland, for two years. She currently serves on the Government’s ICT Skills Action Plan for Jobs Steering Group and Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start-up Advisory Panel. She has been a participant in the Global Irish Economic Forum since 2009 and served on Enterprise Ireland’s Advisory Group on Strategy for the Software Sector 2015-2020. Awarded a Fellowship of the Irish Computer Society in 2015, in 2017 Edel was Awarded TechExcellence IT Person of the Year.

She also serves on the Board of the Marie Keating Foundation, a cancer awareness charity. Edel has a degree in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, is a classically trained violinist and plays regularly with The Hibernian Orchestra.
