Common Purpose, in collaboration with TheStartup.com, has developed a unique platform to welcome their alumni from Ireland onto a newly launched free digital project platform called Common Connect.

Common Connect is a new innovative digital platform by TheStartup.com providing an easy-to-use guided path that helps entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey connect with a community of peers, mentors, investors and service providers to design, build and run their businesses virtually.

At TheStartup.com and on Common Purpose programmes we are seeing more and more new ventures that are motivated by driving a positive impact on our society and planet. This is very much aligned with the types of projects that Common Purpose has helped to foster since it was founded in 1989.

Common Connect, the new free Project and Communication platform, applies the same techniques employed by TheStartup.com to help founders launch startups in universities, incubators and accelerators globally.

The goal of the Common Connect Platform is to help Common Purpose alumni as well as wider society to connect, collaborate and deliver socially driven projects when new solutions are needed more than ever to solve societal issues.

Dara Connolly, CEO of Common Purpose Ireland, said “The pandemic actually gave us an opportunity to step back and re-focus on our purpose as an organisation – to bring together diverse groups of leaders, to bridge the gaps, connect the dots and become better leaders, within their own organisations but also across society.

For each leadership programme, using the city as our classroom, we gather a group of fantastically diverse participants, from all sectors – private-public, Sports, Arts, NFP and more. They are highly skilled professionals, eager to learn and grow. We see that they are keen to have a much wider impact as they share their thoughts and projects – be it diversity, sustainability, workplace access for people with disabilities, human rights, you name it. But we needed a digital platform to enable alumni to stay connected post-programme, allow ideas to incubate, and to grow through working with others of both similar and different thinking and mindset.”

As a Common Purpose alumnus himself, Fionan Murphy, CEO & Co-Founder of TheStartup.com welcomes this collaboration: “We are really excited to be collaborating with Common Purpose to deliver the Common Connect platform.. At TheStartup.com we are seeing more new entrepreneurs and projects with an impact-related vision. This virtual platform guides the alumni to work with others that they may ordinarily never meet, who will contribute to the delivery of projects that will benefit Irish society.”
