Cormac Mohan was appointed the new President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Ireland (CPA) at their AGM of members last Wednesday, 25 April.

Mohan is a qualified CPA accountant and the Managing Partner at FM Accountants & Business Advisors in Dublin.

He has previously held senior roles at Microsoft and Coca-Cola internationally and is an expert in corporate recovery and insolvency.

His role will involve making sure Ireland remains competitive in ensuring a sustainable economic model while encouraging growth and enterprise.

“External factors including Brexit, interest rate hikes, inflation coupled with an infrastructure deficit on housing are all on the horizon. The government needs to review the range of supports and tax policies to indigenous Irish businesses and SMEs so that we are not faced with significant job losses across many sectors in the event of another economic slowdown”, said Mohan.
