This week sees new and notable appointments at CPA Ireland, Hume Brophy, Aramark International, Diaceutics, CPL Resources and Abtran

Áine Collins, President,
CPA Ireland

Áine Collins, CPA, has been appointed as the 49th President and the 5th female President of CPA Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading accountancy bodies that represents over 5,000 members and students.

Speaking at the AGM, Áine stated ‘Technology, sustainability and the world of work are all the major themes which the Council and executive team are taking account of in terms of service delivery and providing value for members in 2021 and beyond.

The accountancy profession is, in every respect, not going to do things differently but will do entirely different things. Already, technology is augmenting the role of the accountancy profession and sustainability, including environmental, social and governance issues, has moved to the top of the global agenda.

Turning to the world of work and taking account of the acceleration in remote working due to the pandemic, we now appreciate that remote working is here to stay. CPA Ireland will provide, and is already providing in many respects, the supports for members and students to thrive in the new world of work’.

Áine also stated that ‘recovery readiness will be informed by the insightful perspectives of CPAs who hold a unique position as advisers, to over 100,000 businesses across Ireland’.

Áine was elected to the Council of CPA Ireland in November 2016. She qualified as CPA in 1996 and is Director of  Blueprint Consultancy, providing Financial and Strategic Business Advise across several sectors with vast expertise and experience in the SME sector from start-ups to growing established businesses internationally, both organically and through mergers and acquisitions.

Áine has held a variety of roles prior to her election at CPA Ireland. She has a passion for and track record of supporting businesses to meet the challenges and opportunities in managing and developing new business as well as supporting business owners and management teams with financial effectiveness and strategic focus.

From 2011 to 2016 Áine, was a TD for the constituency of Cork North West and a Member of the Joint Committee for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Member of the Pubic Account Committee, and Chairperson on the SME group, contributing to the formation of government policy in these areas.

Robin Hamman, Group Director of Digital Strategy,
Hume Brophy

International communications consultancy Hume Brophy today announces the appointment of Robin Hamman as its Group Director of Digital Strategy, as a key component of its plans to put digital at the heart of the firm’s integrated offer.

Robin has been at the forefront of digital and social media for two decades, making his name at the BBC where he pioneered its online discussion forums. He subsequently held director-level roles at Edelman and Fleishman Hillard, spearheading the growth of digital at both agencies.

He has devised and implemented strategic digital communications programmes for governments, NGOs, and global brands as diverse as PwC, Shell, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the EPP Group of the EU Parliament. He also created social media moderation systems and processes for commercial clients including British Airways, Channel 4, Shell, the NHS and UKTV.

Hume Brophy CEO, Conall McDevitt, said: “We have for some time been integrating digital strategy into our public relations, government relations, public affairs and investor relations services, enabling our clients to cut-through in a challenging media climate. Robin’s appointment brings world class experience and expertise to our offer and will allow us to offer our clients best in class digital strategy and execution alongside our existing offer.”

Robin Hamman said: “Whilst many brands and organisations have invested heavily in digital and social media, surprisingly few have leveraged these channels to their full strategic potential. I delight in helping clients develop insights led solutions that address risks and drive measurable progress towards core business objectives, sometimes reshaping their business in the process.”

“The impact of a successful digital strategy is often felt far beyond the communications function – indeed, one of the keys to digital success is the close involvement of stakeholders from across the business in both planning and implementation.”
