Business & Finance highlights notable new appointments this week at Matheson law firm, tech travel company Boxever and The K Club.

Deirdre Crowley, Partner

Matheson

Data privacy and employment law specialist Deirdre Crowley has joined Matheson’s Cork office as partner.  As part of the appointment, Deirdre’s existing team has also joined Matheson. This brings the total number of Matheson Cork-based employees to 13.

Matheson was the first of the largest Irish law firms to establish an office in the Munster region, opening the Matheson Cork office one year ago.

There has been increasing demand for legal services from the firm’s multinational and domestic clients located in Munster, in particular across the ICT, life sciences, med-tech, financial services and cyber security industries.

Matheson has also confirmed that it will relocate from City Gate, Mahon to a larger city centre location in early 2020. The move is to facilitate ongoing and future growth of the firm in the region.

Michael Jackson, Managing Partner at Matheson stated; “We are delighted to welcome Deirdre and her colleagues to Matheson. Her experience and expertise in areas aligned to our own business and client needs are a significant addition to our service offering in Cork.

“Cork is set to become the fastest-growing city in the State over the next 20 years. With provision for growth included under the Government of Ireland 2040 plan combined with ongoing private sector investment, we see significant potential in the region.”

Gráinne Callanan, partner and Cork Office Lead, commented; ‘We are delighted to welcome Deirdre and her colleagues to the team and are excited by the expertise and experience they add to the Matheson offering. Looking to the future, we are enthusiastic about the move to our new offices and the opportunities this will bring.”

Jon Williams, Chief Revenue Officer

Boxever

AI-driven personalisation platform Boxever has announced the appointment of Jon Williams as the company’s first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

The Dublin headquartered company, which has raised $19m to date, signed partnerships with Ryanair and AIB earlier this year. In July, the company was also singled out in Gartner’s 2019 Magic Quadrant, among the top 14 personalisation providers globally from a total 500.

In his new role, Williams is tasked with helping global brands deliver positive online consumer experiences, which translate into measurable outcomes and ROI.

William’s experience in the martech sector spans more than two decades, much of it at Aprimo. There, he held several positions, most recently running its non-US operations, helping brands such as Lloyd’s Bank, Qantas and ASOS achieve measurable growth through more engaged customer experiences.
