Business & Finance highlights notable new appointments at Pinsent Masons, The Society of Actuaries in Ireland and Kantar Media.

Gayle Bowen, Head of Dublin Office

Pinsent Masons

International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Gayle Bowen as head of its Dublin office.
Gayle will lead the Dublin team which is initially focused on advising clients operating in the Technology and Financial Services sectors. The expanding team continues to offer local, national and international clients the deep sectoral expertise and collaborative culture that is inherent across the firm.
Educated at Oxford University and University College Dublin, Gayle is a prominent figure in the investment funds industry in which she specialises. She is the outgoing Chair of the Irish Funds Legal & Regulatory Committee and currently sits on the Irish Funds Brexit Steering Group. Her clients include prominent domestic and international asset managers and she has advised on a number of landmark transactions in the investment funds space.

The Society of Actuaries in Ireland  

The Society of Actuaries in Ireland has appointed Yvonne Lynch as Chief Executive Officer.  She now assumes the responsibilities of CEO in addition to her existing responsibilities as Director of Professional Affairs.

Yvonne is an actuary and holds a masters degree in management science from Trinity College Dublin.  Prior to joining the Society, she held a number of senior management roles within the life assurance industry in Ireland.

Yvonne said, “I am delighted to have been appointed as CEO.  We are a growing profession – we now have nearly 1,900 members, compared to 900 when I joined in 2007 – and our members are very engaged in achieving the Society’s strategic objectives.  I look forward to working with our Council and members to further build the profession’s role and reputation and expand actuaries’ skillsets and fields of practice.”

Grainne Mackey, Client Director 

Kantar Media

Kantar Media, the global media intelligence leader, has appointed Grainne Mackey as a Client Director.

As part of her new role, Grainne will lead the client service team, with particular responsibility for clients of Kantar Media’s TGI consumer studies of consumer behaviour. The management and delivery of the TGI consumer studies is key for the company as it is used as a planning currency between the buy and sell side in the Irish media marketplace.

Grainne brings over 14 years’ media industry experience to this new role. Prior to this, Grainne worked with one of Ireland’s most prominent media companies, Communicorp One. She worked most recently as an Account Director, managing and maintaining client relationships with the GroupM agencies.

Grainne holds a degree in Communications Studies from Dublin City University (DCU).
