The 2015 eircom Spider Awards are open for nominations, seeking to find the most innovative trailblazers in Ireland’s digital business community. Could your business be the next digital champion?

Celebrating its 20th year, the awards are the longest standing and most prestigious digital technology awards in Ireland, and have been the home of some of the country’s most recognisable online influencers and successful businesses since its inception in 1996.

This year’s 20 categories are designed to acknowledge and promote businesses and communities who are making their mark through technological advancements, innovation and e-commerce.

The eircom Spiders will highlight digital achievements of established brands and start-ups across a range of categories including: travel, charity, retail, education, financial services and Irish language, to name but a few. In addition, new categories have been added including: Best Acquisition Campaign, Best Customer Service and Retention Campaign and Best Use of Mobile Technology, along with Best Digital Start-Up.

Special awards recognising agencies and discovering this year’s Digital Hero will also be a big focus of the awards.

Chairman of the judging panel and marketing director, eircom Business Solutions, Gary Disley commented: “The digital landscape has transformed the way we live our lives and conduct our business and it is especially gratifying that the eircom Spider awards has been celebrating this for 20 years now. As the online world is an increasingly competitive space, those shortlisted for the awards really stand out amongst peers, customers and competitors and so I would strongly encourage anyone working in the area to apply. The standard is always so high, which really shows how we as a country have embraced new technologies.”

As part of the eircom Spiders programme, free digital workshops are being held to bring together digital experts and SMEs looking to upskill and enhance their business through digital channels, strategies and best practice. The first digital workshop takes place in eircom HQ on Tuesday, May 26th followed by a second workshop in Cork in September.

This year’s awards will take place on Thursday, October 29th in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Dublin and will be hosted by well-known personalities Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O’Shea.

The closing date for all nominations in the 2015 eircom Spider Awards is September 16th.
