Fully-funded EU initiative offers online Master’s programme, Postgraduate Certificate and Micro-credential pathways in AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science and digital transformation.

Applications are now open for 400 fully funded places on Digital4Business, an internationally accredited and fully funded online digital skills programme designed to help professionals, graduates, and employers build advanced capabilities in high-demand digital technologies.

The September 2026 intake includes a Full-time Master’s, along with Postgraduate Certificate and Micro-credential pathways, with no tuition or registration fees for eligible learners – creating one of the most comprehensive and accessible digital tech upskilling offerings currently available in Europe.

Digital4Business is co-funded by the European Union and has been developed to support long-term competitiveness, innovation and growth across European businesses. The programme responds to the growing need for professionals who can understand, apply and lead with advanced digital technologies across different business functions and industries.

The curriculum covers critical areas including Generative AI, Cybersecurity for Business, Cloud Computing, Data Science and Digital Transformation. It has been developed directly with industry to support high-demand occupational profiles and practical workplace applications.

Demand for the programme has already been very strong. More than 600 professionals across Europe commenced either the Digital4Business Master’s or Micro-credential pathways during the January 2026 and May 2026 intakes alone. Almost 50% of these learners were based in Ireland, illustrating the strong demand for advanced digital upskilling among Irish professionals and businesses.

A European programme designed for Irish business needs

The Digital4Business programme is co-delivered by four leading European Higher Education Institutions: Linköpings universitet in Sweden, National College of Ireland in Ireland, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Portugal, and Università di Bologna in Italy. Within the wider consortium of 13 academic, industry and innovation partners from EU member states, Ireland is strongly represented through National College of Ireland, Skillnet Ireland, Digital Technology Skills, Matrix Internet and Terawe.

The Master’s pathway is designed for those who want to build advanced digital skills while continuing to work or manage other commitments. Delivered fully online and structured around the digital skills that businesses need most, the programme allows learners to complete a European Master’s programme without tuition or registration fees.

While the Master’s follows a full-time academic structure, classes take place in the evening, making it a realistic option for learners balancing study with professional and personal responsibilities. Students complete a 60 ECTS (Level 9 NFQ equivalent) Master’s over two semesters in one academic year.

Who should apply for Digital4Business?

Digital4Business is designed for a wide range of learners and employers seeking advanced digital capability. It is particularly relevant for mid-career professionals looking to move into high-impact digital transformation roles, and for SME leaders who want to better understand how technologies such as AI, data and cybersecurity can improve competitiveness.

The programme is also suitable for functional managers who need to understand the technologies reshaping business functions, as well as recent graduates seeking a practical Master’s qualification aligned with real industry needs.

Dave Feenan, Director of Digital Technology Skills, an Irish partner agency within the Digital4Business consortium, said: “Digital4Business comes at an important moment for Irish and European businesses.”

He explained that advanced digital skills are no longer a specialist requirement for technology teams alone, but they are becoming essential across every function, from leadership and operations to finance, customer experience, cybersecurity and innovation.

Feenan then added that the September intake creates a major opportunity for professionals, graduates and employers to access a fully online, internationally accredited European programme, with no tuition or registration fees.

“For employers, Digital4Business offers a way to strengthen internal talent. For individuals, it is a way to future-proof their career.”

More than academic teaching

Digital4Business offers more than academic teaching. The programme places a strong focus on community, career progression, and practical support.

Students can access a range of employability and professional development activities, including webinars, one-to-one coaching, mentoring, peer exchange and career-focused sessions. These supports cover areas such as CV development, networking, interview preparation, communication and leading through digital change.

The wider learning experience also includes industry engagement and networking opportunities, helping learners stay connected to both their peers and the professional world throughout the programme.

Learners will also have the opportunity to gain industry-recognised certifications, helping them strengthen their employability and align their skills with current labour market needs.
