Business Person of the Month October 2021: Sinéad Fitzmaurice, CEO of TransferMate Global Payments, delivers cutting-edge payments infrastructure to companies worldwide

Sinéad Fitzmaurice is CEO of TransferMate Global Payments and is the Business & Finance Business Person of the Month October 2021

Sinéad Fitzmaurice is CEO of TransferMate Global Payments and is the Business & Finance Business Person of the Month October 2021.

Ms Fitzmaurice trained as a chartered accountant at PwC Ireland. She gained 10 years international experience at the firm, managing projects in London and Jersey, before later being appointed Group Financial Controller at Venner International, where she managed the firms’ successful IPO. She returned to Ireland in 2005, joining The Taxback Group as Group CFO. Since then, Ms Fitzmaurice has worked closely with the Group Founder, Terry Clune, who five years later founded TransferMate Global Payments.

Since its inception Ms Fitzmaurice had been a key member of TransferMate’s leadership team and, in 2019, Mr Clune promoted her to TransferMate’s CEO. TransferMate, through its market leading regulated payments technology powers payments products for world leading banks and software platforms via an integrated API solution.

TransferMate Global Payments is a provider of payments infrastructure as a service. In June 2021, the group announced a new collaboration to introduce its cross-border payment experience to sellers and buyers of Alibaba.com, an ecommerce platform for global wholesale trade. Customers of Alibaba.com can use TransferMate’s platform to receive and make payments.
