Buymedia was founded in 2015 by CEO Fergal O’Connor. Buymedia merges advertising and technology to create an artificial intelligence platform that helps companies use data to grow through more effective advertising. It also gives them insights so they can make data-driven advertising decisions.
While the company has grown successfully since it’s foundation, part of the long-term plan was to create an initiative that would contribute a percentage of the advertising spend to causes that needed support from the corporate community.
This new initiative aims to bring together support from the advertising community to provide in-kind ad space and direct financial support for UNICEF.
Buymedia Founder and CEO Fergal O’ Connor noted:
“At Buymedia we are aware of the billions spent every year on advertising, along with the thousands of great causes that desperately need funding to fulfil their vision.”
“A high proportion of the companies that we work with use CSR to support such causes,” he continued.
“We wanted to find a way for these companies to use a percentage of their advertising spend to give back.”
As part of the pilot programme, Buymedia will contribute 1% of revenue generated between August and December, to UNICEF’s Core Resources for Results, as well as encouraging advertisers and media partners to contribute a percentage of their revenue and ad space respectively.
UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of every child in 190 countries and territories, with a special focus on reaching the most vulnerable.
With the ongoing pandemic, the war in Ukraine and natural disasters because of climate change, the world’s most vulnerable children need our support.
Buymedia hopes that with the help of their clients and media partners, they can support UNICEF’s work for children wherever and whenever the need is greatest.
