In September, EPAM had the privilege of sponsoring the Social Impact Award at the 2022 Diversity in Tech Awards in Dublin, Ireland.
A topic that is very near and dear to us, the Social Impact Award honours those who are creating significant, positive change by reducing barriers and strengthening communities’ access to opportunity. Award recipient Access Earth, a leading accessibility database, was acknowledged for their outstanding COVID-19 related information—helping communities make informed decisions about the safest and most welcome places to shop, eat or experience.
At EPAM, we act as one team, value collaboration and appreciate our differences. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive and diverse workplace that empowers us to deliver the most creative and cutting-edge solutions and ideas. Reflecting on our community initiatives over the past seven years, we have gained valuable insight and will continue to expand our positive impact.
Here is just a sample of how EPAM is empowering social impact on the communities where we live and work:
- HealthBuddy App. Partnering with UNICEF, EPAM engineered an innovative mobile platform for people to use as a reliable source of information and advice related to COVID-19. Currently used by more than 500,000 people worldwide, this one-stop destination allows users to access trusted news sources, learn more about recommended protective and preventive behaviours, and receive exposure notifications to help public health authorities manage the contact-tracing process as per World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
- Trashly Environmental App. Chosen as a Top 10 App in Google’s Android Development Challenge, EPAM’s artificial intelligence AI-powered, recommendation-generating digital assistant, Trashly, demonstrates both social value and machine learning (ML). With the Trashly app, users can learn how to responsibly dispose of waste and be encouraged to recycle more.
- Carbon Footprint Calculator. EPAM’s Carbon Footprint Calculator makes it easy for people to understand what their current personal carbon contributions are—and how to make simple lifestyle changes to reduce them.
- Disaster Response Program. Teams on the ground and around the world united to support our Ukrainian colleagues and their families.
