Network performance and security management company Fastcom has today announced 25 new jobs on the back of €1.2m investment.

The new positions will be network engineering and customer support roles at its new Sligo network operations and security centre.

Founded in Sligo in 2004, Fastcom provides a range of connectivity and network operations services for multi-site retailers across Ireland and the UK.

The company’s software allows businesses to view and manage their network and all connected devices from one location and the company manages over 30,000 connected devices.

The company boosted its sales and revenue by 25% this year and, as well as expanding its operations in Ireland and the UK, Fastcom currently has business prospects in Singapore, Holland and Belgium.

Ross Palmer, managing director, Fastcom, said: “Fastcom is a rapidly-growing business and we need additional staff to support our business activities. This investment will allow us to serve existing and prospective customers even better as we continue to develop our software and invest in our staff.”

He continued: “Fastcom is unique in Ireland; no one else is doing what we do. By pulling a company’s whole network together and looking at its IT holistically, we can diagnose problems quickly and reduce callouts from IT service people by 50%. We strive to make IT people more productive and actively help them identify areas for improvement to boost business performance.”

“As business owners become increasingly aware of the risk posed by data breaches and malware, that service is crucial. Companies simply cannot afford the downtime caused by technical glitches – or the bad press that follows. What we offer businesses is insurance and peace of mind.”
