Anthropic, the US-based AI safety and research company, has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Dublin.

The roles will span multiple functions, including sales, finance, legal and compliance, engineering, and operations. The expansion comes amid strong enterprise demand across Europe.

The company also reported significant financial growth, with revenue increasing elevenfold year-on-year, driven by uptake among enterprises, digital-native firms, and startups building with its Claude AI models.

Daniela Amodei, President and Co-founder of Anthropic, said, “We’re expanding our Irish operations to meet strong enterprise demand across Europe. What we hear consistently from Europe’s largest businesses is that they want AI they can trust – systems that are safe, reliable and built with their interests in mind. That’s exactly what Anthropic exists to provide, and Dublin is the ideal base to deliver it. The talent here is exceptional, and we’re proud to be deepening our commitment to Ireland at this pivotal moment for AI adoption in Europe.”

Anthropic is witnessing a significant rise in the European and global markets, driven by a massive surge in enterprise adoption and developer-focused tools.

The company’s footprint now covers 300,000 corporate clients, including 80% of the Fortune 10, while its specialised Claude Code tool has seen its revenue run rate more than double to $2.5 billion in early 2026.

This commercial dominance is backed by a staggering $380 billion valuation following a $30 billion Series G round, supporting an overall revenue run rate that has reached $14 billion.

On the innovation front, the company has maintained a relentless pace with over 30 product launches this year, headlined by the debut of the high-performance Opus 4.6 model and the Cowork platform for professional knowledge workers across industries.

Welcoming the announcement, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said, “Anthropic’s major expansion in Ireland is a strong vote of confidence in our thriving technology ecosystem and our position as a global hub for AI innovation, supported by world-class research, a highly skilled workforce and a pro-innovation policy environment. Our recently launched Digital and AI Strategy, Digital Ireland – Connecting our People, Securing our Future, sets out the Government’s strong ambition to ensure the economy reaps the benefits of digital and AI for growth and competitiveness, to enhance our public services, as well as to empower our people to thrive in a digital society.”

He continues, “As part of our Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, Ireland will host an International AI Summit on Enabling AI to Power European Growth, opening European AI Innovation Month in partnership with the European Commission. This high-level gathering will showcase Ireland as a leader in AI innovation and adoption, while advancing Europe’s ambition to develop a responsible, competitive and innovative AI ecosystem. We look forward to further developing our partnership with Anthropic.”

The announcement comes shortly after the Irish Government published its Digital and AI 2030 Strategy, outlining ambitions to position Ireland as a global hub for artificial intelligence while further leveraging the country’s strong technology talent base.
