IBM is an American multinational technology and consulting company that provides computer hardware, software, and IT services. It is headquartered in Dublin and has now opened a new office location in Waterford.

IBM, which has offices in Dublin, Cork, and Galway, has recently announced the expansion of its offices to Waterford, opening 75 new Research & Development (R&D) roles. The new roles will focus on developing the cutting-edge IBM’s leading enterprise infrastructure, Z and Linux One.
With the addition of the Waterford facility, IBM Z now operates 12 development labs globally.
IBM has also reported its decision to expand its collaboration with Southeast Technological University.
IBM Ireland’s country general manager, Nathan Cullen, said, “This is testimony to the deep talent pools available across the country, upon which we have steadily built our business, including mainframes, which are a cornerstone of global transactions.
“IBM has now operated in Ireland for nearly 70 years, and this milestone investment for the region also speaks volumes about the ecosystem that has built up around South East Technological University.”
