Technology firm Fortuity is creating 10 new jobs as a result of significant growth in cloud, data analytics and security solutions.
Fortuity is a privately held company with headquarters in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.
Formerly known as Avalon Technologies, the company has recently rebranded to Fortuity to make way for their expansion in size and services.
More than 100 guests attended the jobs announcement, which was followed by a Fortuity briefing on cyber security in 2016 with speakers from FireEye, EMC and Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).
Speaking at the briefing Minister for Data Protection Dara Murphy TD said: “I am delighted to announce 10 new jobs for Cork – this is another very positive announcement and shows the business opportunities presented by cloud computing and data analytics. I am delighted to see such growth in this sector, and to announce the doubling in size of Fortuity, as a result of the strong demand for cloud and data services in the SME market.”
Kevin O’Regan, founder and managing director at Fortuity, commented: “While we work with clients of all sizes and across a range of sectors, this company growth is being fuelled by the adoption of cloud, security and data analytics services by small and medium-sized enterprises.”
He continued: “There is no longer a perception that these solutions are just for multinationals, but that small and medium-sized businesses can benefit and leverage business opportunities very successfully to punch above their weight in the market.”
