The 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit returned to Washington DC for its annual global business gathering of business and political leaders from across the World. Dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) across the United States, the summit featured opportunities with innovation and entrepreneurship at the forefront including businesses from across the globe.
SelectUSA Tech facilitated connecting a range of global early-stage and startup technology companies to prospects for advancement in the U.S. market, where participants could exhibit at branded booths, upload a product and service demo video, and apply to pitch in front of a panel of judges.
With over 3,600 participants, 100 sessions, and 300 speakers, this year’s summit was the largest ever. The summit has directly impacted over $59 billion in new U.S. investment projects, supporting over 50,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.
Largest ever Irish delegation led by US Ambassador Claire Cronin
US Ambassador Claire Cronin led the largest ever Irish business delegation with over forty Irish corporations travelling to Washington DC with Irish business leaders engaging with business and political representatives from across all fifty states.
The summit was hosted by US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo with presentations from Governors and US government officials from across the United States.
SelectUSA Tech also facilitated connecting a range of global early-stage and startup technology companies to prospects for advancement in the U.S. market, where participants could exhibit at branded booths, upload a product and service demo video, and apply to pitch in front of a panel of judges with many Irish Corporations participating and engaging companies from over 50 states and 80 markets.
Ireland INC, which is incorporated in Washington DC and working with Irish corporations, US & Irish business networks along with US and Irish Government trade departments and Government agencies, participated in the Summit.
Ireland INC, along with Select USA, Ibec, Enterprise Ireland and a range of corporate and strategic partners, are working closely on a number of initiatives to create a permanent professional representative services and support to Irish corporations who are investing and expanding across the United States as part of Ireland INC’s ‘30-50-30 Programme’, which is driving Irish corporations with the objective of increasing Irish businesses investment by 30% across all Fifty US States by 2030.
Irish Ambassador recognises expanding Irish business footprint
As part of the 2022 Select USA Summit programme, the Irish Ambassador to the United States, Dan Mulhall, hosted a gathering of business leaders at his Residence. In attendance were US Ambassador Claire Cronin; Ian Hyland, President, Ireland INC; Orla Keane, Deputy Irish Ambassador to the United States; Declan Hughes, Assistant Secretary General Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment; William Tranghese former Chief of Staff for US House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal and now Senior Vice President at Platinum Advisors.
Mike Burke, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP; Mike Walsh, former Chief of Staff to Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and now Foley & Co; Rebecca Glover, Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director; Va Governor Glenn Youngkin; Conor Kenny, US Department of Commerce/Select USA Dublin; Finola Cunningham, Head of Commercial Division US Embassy Dublin; Ben English, Accenture US; Eric Huey, President Platinum Advisors; Reilly O’Connor, Principal Lincoln Park Group; Mark Redmond, American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and Sean Davis, President USA Enterprise Ireland.
Senior Executives from a number of Irish corporations were in attendance including Ardagh PLC, CPL, Carbery, Binarii Labs, PM Group, Sigmar, Lotus Works, Crest Solutions, Hanley Energy, Core FX Ingredients and Kianda Technologies amongst others.
