Business & Finance is delighted to announce Ireland’s Exporters: In Their Own Words, a new video series in association with Enterprise Ireland. The series showcases the incredible journey and leadership shown by Irish companies whose export footprint is constantly growing in size and scope.

Business & Finance Deputy Editor, David Monaghan, conducts interviewees with those drawn from the ranks of Ireland’s most successful exporters and those nominated for the Business & Finance Awards Elevation Award. The Elevation Award was launched in 2018 in partnership with Enterprise Ireland. This award recognises Irish companies that are fast-growing and with significant potential to continue to scale globally, focused on Irish companies achieving up to €350m in revenue. The Award complements the well-established Company of the Year Award, which recognises Irish companies above this revenue threshold.

The first episode features Devan Hughes, CEO and Co-Founder of Buymie. Buymie is a mobile-first grocery platform that offers personalised convenience whereby customers can order from a list of partnering shops and have their goods hand-delivered to their door within an hour.

The idea for the company came to Mr Hughes while working full-time for an energy company. He spent countless hours researching the supermarkets sector, finding the right niche in which to contribute a varied skill set.
