Keywords Studios listed on the London Stock Exchange’s sub-market Alternative Investment Market (AIM) four years ago and was established in 1998.
Among a host of tasks, the company provides localisation services for some of the world’s largest gaming companies, such as Electronic Arts (EA), Sega, Nintendo and Ubisoft, among others. The company has more than 42 establishments in 20 countries and employs over 3,000 people.
Sperasoft, founded in 2004, is a games firm headquartered in California and has bases across Eastern Europe and Russia. The organisation provides art and engineering services for the likes of Warner Bros., EA and Ubisoft.
Sperasoft’s revenues last year reached $16 million with this year the company looking to reach $27 million.
Keywords made its first move into engineering in the middle of 2017 with the acquisition of XLOC and Game Sim. This was followed by another acquisition in October of d3t.
The company’s CEO, Andrew Day, said Sperasoft adds “considerably to [their] engineering services division” and that the move will “significantly enlarg[e] [their] range of services and geographic footprint.”
