Ireland: A Directory 2017, Ireland’s most comprehensive directory and database on public and private organisations, was recently launched by Minister Leo Varadkar at The Merrion Hotel, Dublin.

Details on over 9,000 organisations are included, with extensive personnel listings providing an unrivalled window of insight into Government departments, state agencies, academic colleges and private sector companies, among other institutions.

Published by the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), Ireland: A Directory 2017 also features a week-to-view diary for 2017.

“Congratulations to the IPA which is publishing this volume for the 51st year in a row. It’s a staple of Irish public affairs, which I have used extensively. Ireland has changed a lot in those 51 years. But that change is reflected in this extensively updated edition, which remains an essential guide to understanding the makeup of public and private organisations,” said Leo Varadkar TD, Minister for Social Protection.

Previously known as the IPA Yearbook and Diary, the publication was rebranded as Ireland: A Directory last year to mark its 50th anniversary.

Dr Marian O’Sullivan, director general of the IPA, said the publication stands as a fascinating reference resource and proves useful for people on a daily basis.

“Whether you are in business, the media, the public sector or academia, Ireland: A Directory 2017 is an essential volume which can enhance what you do every day,” she said. “It provides information on personnel listings across the public and private sector – something that people find indispensable when it comes to contacting someone you haven’t met before. It’s an aid to networking and navigating an ever-changing civil society. Practically speaking, it also helps you plan your week, as you benefit from a diary which already includes dates for key conferences and event listings from the worlds of culture and sport.”

Ireland – A Directory 2017 is available in bookshops and to order from sales@ipa.ie.
