The design team of The Brasserie at Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa
Part of a €2.8m investment at the four-star Kerry hotel, The Brasserie at Ballygarry House has opened its doors.
The investment project has been led by proprietor Padraig McGillicuddy, who took over at the helm in 2003 at the age of 28.
Since then, the property has evolved and grown to become a 64-bedroom property.
The latest investment project was broken into two phases, the first involving the removal of the former N21 road, building a new entrance and adding 90 car parking spaces.
A new traffic system was also created to deal effectively with the increased volume of guests attending other areas, allowing them to now access each segment of the business, Nádúr Spa, The Brasserie and The Pavilion, with its own individual car park and entrance.
The second phase, which has just been completed, involved the addition of the new casual dining venue (The Brasserie), as well as the addition of new toilet facilities including disabled toilets, storage and plant rooms, new office space and guest lounge.
McGillicuddy commented: “I am very excited to lead the hotel into this new phase of development. With the strength of our team I now can spent time on strategic growth planning as they keep the operations of the hotel efficiently and expertly running.’’
The final phase in the five-year plan will see a new restaurant and brasserie kitchen, an increase in capacity of 40% in Brooks restaurant and an outdoor canopy covered garden view dining area.
