There were new and notable appointments this week at A&L Goodbody, GlobalLogic and Bord Gáis Energy.

Irish law firm, A&L Goodbody (ALG), is expanding its pro bono team with an additional full-time lawyer, Amy Martin. With the creation of this new role, the company has the largest dedicated pro bono practice in Ireland. The practice is led by Head of Pro Bono, Eithne Lynch and includes a dedicated trainee rotation and annual law and human rights student placement from National University of Ireland Galway.
ALG’s pro bono practice provides free legal advice to organisations and individuals who otherwise may not have access to the justice system. It is one of the building blocks of its new three-year responsible business strategy ‘Our future with purpose – ALG’s commitment to sustainability’.
Ross Moore, Responsible Business Partner at ALG, said:

Digital engineering firm GlobalLogic has announced the appointment of Declan Fay as part of an expansion into the Irish marketplace. GlobalLogic, which shares its Dublin-based office with Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi Energy, helps brands across the globe design and build innovative products, platforms, and digital experiences for the modern world.
The appointment of Fay comes as part of GlobalLogic’s three-year business strategy and development plan to help global brands design and build innovative products, platforms, and digital experiences for the modern world in the Irish and wider European markets.
In his new role, Fay will work with GlobalLogic’s automotive, communications, consumer, financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, media and entertainment, semiconductor, and technology business units to accelerate growth.
Before joining GlobalLogic, Fay amassed more than 25 years of experience in the technology sector across semiconductor, IT infrastructure, enterprise software, digital services and technology consulting in Ireland and Europe. He held senior business development roles with Intel, ISG Research, and, most recently, Mobica. Fay led business development teams focusing on transformation technologies, including Digital Platforms, IoT, Machine Learning, AI, Automation and Blockchain.
Fay has consistently demonstrated his domain expertise to solve complex business challenges and his ability to enhance customer experience and engagement through solutions innovation. His commitment to delivery has seen him improve customer satisfaction for SMBs and multinational corporations alike. When asked about his latest appointment, Fay said:
“I was delighted to spend week one in London meeting face to face with UK&I colleagues as part of my on-ramp on this very exciting new journey. I will be leading the development and scale-up of GlobalLogic’s business in Ireland and strategic business development across the region, co-located with Hitachi sister companies Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi Energy in Dublin and also collaborating with Hitachi High-tech based in Maynooth, Co Kildare. A combination that brings a phenomenal range of capabilities to the market in Ireland.”

Bord Gáis Energy has welcomed three new members to its executive management team with the appointment of Susan Whyte as Director of Customer Operations, Steve Martin as Technology Director and Angela Hoey as HR Director.
As the Director of Customer Operations, Susan Whyte is responsible for all operational delivery areas including sales and customer service operations, billing, credit and contact centre management. In her new role, she will lead the customer experience and operational excellence programmes in Bord Gáis Energy. Susan has over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry and has a proven track record of delivering change and building successful teams. Susan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin.
Steve Martin takes on the role of Technology Director, where he will lead the development and execution of the company’s technology strategy. Steve joined Bord Gáis Energy in 2015 and has over 20 years’ experience in IT and management consultancy sectors. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
Angela Hoey is Bord Gáis Energy’s HR Director, having joined the company from Centrica Group earlier this year. She guides the business in strategic people decisions and works closely with the global teams. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies from the Glasgow Caledonian University and a post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Strathclyde.
