There were new and notable appointments this week at Dell Technologies Ireland, Presidio, DLA Piper and SYS Group.
Catherine Doyle, Managing Director,
Dell Technologies Ireland
Dell Technologies Ireland recently announced the appointment of Catherine Doyle as the firm’s new Managing Director. Jason Ward, who previously occupied the role, will take leadership of Dell Technologies EMEA Global Alliances team.
Doyle has worked at Dell Technologies Ireland for over fifteen years with previous roles at the company including EMEA Software Leader as well as holding the position of Enterprise Sales Director at Dell EMC Ireland. As the firm’s MD, she will have responsibility for the commercial and enterprise company in Ireland.

Alan Claffey, VP Sales — Product Procurement,
Presidio
Digital services and IT solutions provider, Presidio, has announced the appointment of Alan Claffey to VP Sales, Product Procurement for the European business. This senior appointment will see Claffey continue to grow Presidio’s IT Procurement business in Europe and across the globe with a scalable structure.
In his new role, Claffey will oversee the daily operations of the IT Procurement sales team and Presidio’s dedicated Apple Practice, interact with global OEMs at a strategic level to plan, manage, and achieve growth objectives. He will also provide mentorship to his sales team in order to ensure their professional growth and development.
Claffey has over twenty five years’ experience in the tech and telco industries. He is a passionate Sales Leader with a track record of delivering transformational business results.

Prior to becoming VP of Sales at Presidio, Claffey held the position of Head of Vodafone Global Enterprise Ireland, Vodafone Ireland. He also had roles as Head of Direct Sales and Head of Key Account Sales at Vodafone.
Matthew Cole, Head of Corporate Practice — Ireland,
DLA Piper
Global law firm, DLA Piper, has appointed Matthew Cole as the new head of its corporate practice in Ireland. He takes over from Éanna Mellett who has completed a successful four year term in the role. The appointment takes place with immediate effect.
Éanna Mellett’s term as Head of Corporate saw him oversee the establishment and significant growth of the practice to a team of twenty lawyers and business professionals. As a Partner at DLA Piper, he will continue to work alongside Cole to drive the Group forward.
Cole joined DLA Piper as Partner in 2020 and has since been a core part of the Irish corporate team and one of the firm’s most active M&A partners, leading some of the firm’s most valuable international client relationships.

Alan Hannignan, Chief Financial Officer,
SYS Group
SYS Group, the Nenagh-headquartered financial services group, has appointed Alan Hannigan as Chief Financial Officer. He joined the company in 2021 as Group Financial Controller. In his new role, he will oversee accounting and finance within the company.
Hannigan has over ten years’ experience in accounting and finance roles. He is ex Deloitte with recent finance roles across aircraft leasing (PAFS Ireland) and fintech (Global Payments) industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCC, a Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments from UCD and is an ACA qualified chartered accountant
