This week sees new and notable appointments at Intel, Allianz Ireland, WebDoctor, Fuzion Communications, Starcircle, Bank of Ireland Group, Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, InterTradeIreland (ITI), DropChef, W5, and Avanade.
The announcement was made by Intel chief executive Pat Gelsinger. “Thrilled to share that Dr. Ann Kelleher is now @Intel executive vice president. So well-deserved with her many contributions including the turnaround of our Tech Dev organisation this past year,” Mr Gelsinger posted on Twitter.
Dr Kelleher joined Intel in 1996 as a process engineer. She is currently general manager of Technology Development at Intel Corporation, responsible for the research, development and deployment of next-generation silicon logic, packaging and test technologies.
Prior to that, Dr Kelleher was general manager of manufacturing and operations, and served as co-general manager of the Technology and Manufacturing Group.
Originally from Macroom in Co Cork, she received a bachelor’s degree in 1987 and a Master’s degree in 1989 in electrical engineering from University College Cork.
In 1993, she received a PhD from the National Microelectronics Research Centre, now now part of the Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork, becoming the first woman to do so.
Mark Brennan, Head of Marketing,
Allianz Ireland has announced the appointment of Mark Brennan as its Head of Marketing. Mark’s new role will see him be responsible for all Allianz’s business to consumer and business to business marketing activity, ranging from proposition development, customer experience, digital platforms, brand & digital marketing as well as Allianz’s sponsorship programme portfolio.
Prior to joining Allianz Ireland, Mark was head of marketing for Allied Irish Bank (AIB). In that role he headed up critical marketing programmes for the AIB Group’s mortgage portfolio within this role. Mark also was head of the EBS Mortgage brand where he redeveloped its online platform and new brand positioning for the brand. Prior to managing the mortgage portfolio Mark worked across the groups business and personal credit lines as well as being AIB’s head of Digital Marketing and Innovation.
Prior to joining AIB in 2013, Mark had an extensive advertising agency background, having worked in London for ten years on global briefs for Hertz, L’Oréal, Volkswagen and Guinness with leading agencies like DBB and Adam&Eve. Mark has a M.SC in Advertising from Technological University Dublin and a BA in Economics and Politics from University College Dublin.

David Crimmins, CEO,
WebDoctor, a leading health technology business and telehealth platform, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Crimmins as CEO effective immediately. In his new role, David will have overall responsibility for the management of the company and he will oversee the international expansion of WebDoctor, building on its strong growth in Ireland to date.
Prior to assuming the role of CEO, David served as WebDoctor’s Chief Commercial Officer. He has also held a number of senior roles internationally and domestically in the medical and technology fields.
Prior to joining WebDoctor, David served for three years in a senior role with medical device company ResMed, with responsibility for the company’s strategy in the EMEA and Japanese markets. He also served as Commercial Director for health insurance provider GloHealth for five years.

The appointment of David Crimmins coincides with the recent investment of €3 million in the business from private equity investor VentureWave Capital. The investment valued WebDoctor at €48 million and will be used to accelerate WebDoctor’s international growth and expansion.
David holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin and a Higher Diploma in Marketing Practice from UCD Graduate School of Business.
Sarah Murphy, Senior Account Manager,

Having spent six years with Kate Bowe PR, Sarah worked on large-scale publicity campaigns in Ireland for The Hunger Games and Twilight series franchise, as well as Matthew McConaughey’s acclaimed film Dallas Buyers Club and Saoirse Ronan’s Brooklyn to name but a few. Following her time in Kate Bowe, PR Sarah moved to IMAGE Media where she acted as event and project manager from small events to large scale award ceremonies such as the IMAGE Business Woman of the Year Awards. Before joining Fuzion Communications, Sarah spent the last two years freelancing working with established businesses such as florist Joeanna Caffrey Flowers, and business start-ups such as Sing At Work and artisan candle range Vipasa.

Ciara Byrne, Chief Revenue Officer,
Starcircle, a Cork-based global strategic talent sourcing firm that helps companies source and recruit hidden talent, has appointed its Chief Revenue Officer.
Starcircle’s clients include high profile multinationals such as Facebook, Amazon, Dropbox, Cisco, Doordash, Epic Games and Sonos. As Chief Revenue Officer, Ciara Byrne will be responsible for creating and monitoring strategies that will strengthen its positioning and global business growth further.

Eamonn Hughes has been appointed Chief Sustainability & Investor Relations Officer at Bank of Ireland Group.
Eamonn is a senior finance professional and market analyst with over 25 years’ capital markets and domestic banking experience. He joins Bank of Ireland from Goodbody Stockbrokers, where he held the role of Irish Banks and Insurance Sector Analyst since 2004. Eamonn also previously served as Head of the European Banks Team in ABN AMRO. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters in Banking & Finance and a CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

Bank of Ireland’s Responsible & Sustainable Business Strategy 2021 – 2024, “Investing in Tomorrow”, has set science-based targets to align its lending portfolios with the Paris agreement and is embedding climate change into lending and investment decisions. Earlier this year, the Bank announced a €3 billion increase in its Sustainable Finance Fund to bring it to €5 billion by 2024. The fund covers Bank of Ireland’s suite of green loans designed to incentivise home owners and businesses to be more energy efficient. In the 9 months to end-September 2021 the Bank’s green mortgage lending in Ireland increased nearly 30% vs the same period in 2020. The Bank also recently announced improvements to its green mortgage range.

With the 2022 programme now open for applications, the company has welcomed recent graduates Micheal Murphy and Sergio Oliva to complete the three-and-a-half-year scheme.
Sergio, who joins the team following his degree in Accounting with Spanish from Queen’s University Belfast, joined to work in Audit and Accounts and is also gaining experience within the Tax Department.
Micheal, who currently works in Audit and Accounts, also joined following his accounting degree at Queen’s University Belfast and says the opportunity to work in a high-paced environment and get involved in a range of areas of accounting is what attracted him to the firm.

Gary Scott, Head of Corporate Wellness,
DropChef, has announced a further expansion of the business with a new corporate wellness offering, following a period of sustained growth by the company’s direct to consumer service. Founded in 2015, DropChef is an Irish food-tech business that delivers tailored healthy meal kits with measured, locally sourced ingredients to homes throughout Ireland.
DropChef’s technology cuts food and packaging waste, while driving the adoption of healthier meal options and hence overall wellbeing. As part of the expansion Gary Scott has been appointed as the new Head of Corporate Wellness. Gary joined the company to lead the new service and brings a wealth of experience in the area following his previous roles in physical therapy and workplace ergonomics. Working closely with DropChef’s new full-time dietician, he assists new clients in fostering a healthier and high-performance workplace.

Aubrey joins from C&D Foods, a division of ABP Group, one of Ireland’s largest family run businesses, where he has been CFO for the last six years. Aubrey brings extensive experience in leading strategic, operational and financial programmes to provide the platform to support significant global expansion. Prior to joining C&D, Aubrey was an audit director at KPMG, Galway.

Kara joins us from Aptiv Global Operations, a 14-billion-dollar technology company where she has been Vice President of HR for the past 2 years, responsible for over 50,000 employees across the EMEA. Kara has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources and has held various strategic and operational roles for global technology companies, including Infovista, UNIT 4 Software, SAP and Thermo King.

Kelly joins Avanade, an Accenture and Microsoft joint venture, after more than 20 years at Accenture, where he worked in both Ireland and the UK in Technology and Financial Services. Most recently, he led a large delivery team with a major financial services organisation. Before that, he led Accenture’s Diversification portfolio within Financial Services. Kelly is already very familiar with Avanade having worked alongside the organisation in his previous roles.
